Hondaa, you've obviously never played pool in England. The rules tend to change from city to city or even pub to pub. So, that's why you can set the rules before you play.
Reiver14, each computer player does the same each time - sometimes they get lucky and pot a few. I've played pool with my sister and she's the same - normally sh*t, then she gets lucky and pots a few easy ones.
Wydowson, you must be playing Straight Pool and not 8-ball. If you pot your oppenent's ball it's always a foul unless it's your first of 2 shots.
Thanks for all your comments so far! It seems most of you like it, but some of you think the physics suck - but never say why. I play a lot of pool and I think the physics are pretty good for a flash game. Razboss is right that the balls stop a little quickly, but that's because people complained the balls didn't stop quickly enough in a past version - and it keeps the game flowing better, I think. Also, I have know idea why someone said the balls bounce out of the pockets if you hit it really hard - this is impossible as there is nothing in the pockets for them to bounce off!
Tomipoika, each computer player does the same thing each shot and it is random each time. So sometimes they're gonna pot a few and if they get unlucky or the shot is too hard they'll miss.
I can't think of a better way of balancing their skill level other than making the computer players pot X balls then miss - I prefer the randomness.
Pronell, I don't think there is a bug with ball placing - it's never happened to me. The CPU player can only place the ball in the same place as you can depending on the setting you chose -(place cue ball anywhere after foul - ON/OFF). If you find a bug, please let me know right away and I'll fix it ASAP - cheers.
Bobjrsenior, if you potted the 8-ball and an opponent's ball at the same time - this is a foul.
You can't pot your opponent's ball in English Pub Rules unless you have 2-shots.
You were right alabama! I changed the cup names before I uploaded the game to the site - this caused an id error (as I named the straight and 8-ball cups the same). I've changed the names of the cups now - so the bug is fixed - I hope! Thanks again Alabama
I'm not too sure about the heart beats too - they seemed like a good idea at the time. I might make them optional. Also, you can always turn the music off using the sound control (it's the left bit when you hover over the speaker). If you turn it right down it will turn it off completely - and when you play next time it will be remembered. Thanks for the nice comments so far! That's how I play it.
brocknslagn, that's only normally allowed after a foul in the UK. So you can pot any ball when playing your first shot after foul in this game. I might add your suggestion as a rule option in the next version - as well tournaments...

Bob, that must have been a fluke! Shakey Sam isn't that good, and is terrible on the black normally. I've altered the players' ability a little, they should be easier to beat now.
FoamHead! Thanks for the longest comment ever! Answers: #1) click the the speaker image to MUTE ALL. #2) I agree. #3) You ALREADY CAN change the spin by using the ARROWS or ASDW. Q goes to menus/quits. #4) I agree, they don't really do much yet as the game doesn't keep state over sessions. But you tend to need a score of over 90000 to win a PUB LEGEND AWARD. #5) I prefer the fixed aiming after pressing down the mouse button, but I will remove the target line when you move the mouse after pressing down. You can CANCEL a SHOT by moving the mouse OFF THE TABLE. #6) I'll look into it. #7) The RAIL RULE is not normally played in the UK, that's an American rule.

This game isn't loading for me too - on my XP laptop, but it's working on my Vista desktop - weird! I noticed it's a new version 1.5 - so maybe something went wrong?
