Not sure if anybody else ran into this snag, but it felt like the offline Heart gains during the event were a bit sluggish. I logged back on just before the event ended, and had a lot fewer Hearts than my own number-crunching (based on the stated rate and the precise time offline) suggested I should have had; consequently, I was about 20 or 25 upgrades shy of the required 500. Kind of irritating.
Having started from scratch on my progress (on account of catastrophic hardware failure -- and just before the Cloud save update, go figure), I've noticed a pretty substantial problem with the Hidden Trophy lineup: because of how it's set up, anybody who shelled out for any of the Gift boosts is prevented from getting the Leet trophy and its respective boost -- you always start with more than 1,337 coins, and since there's no way to disable that, there's no means of getting exactly that number because any method of reducing your coin count raises the production too high. What this means, basically, is that I've paid money for the privilege of never getting all the trophies.
You can temporarily disable Premium Features, including all advantages provided by the Gifts, from the Options menu. If you do this before resetting, you will start from 0 gold - then you can get the LEET trophy and reactivate them again. The option is a checkbox called "Disable Premium Features".
Paralytic levels of lag, and I keep somehow falling straight through the ground as soon as I step off the porch. Oh, and because the mute button is presumably on the pause screen, and the only means of *getting* the pause screen is to talk to the dweeby-looking guy in the top hat and suspenders (who I can't reach due to the invisible bottomless pit at the foot of the stairs), I'm forced to listen to the repetitive soundtrack, obnoxious sound effects, and that 'wah-wah-wah-waaah' bit that plays when the game invariably kills me in my attempts to shut it up.
Pretty sure there's a bug in both the "Need a Headstart?" and "Greed Drive" trophies -- I fulfilled the requirements for both (doing nothing for five minutes after a reset on the former, and 100 Goblin's Greed casts with no other spells on the latter), yet got nothing. So far, though, that's the only potential bug I've seen on the new release.
I aim a kick towards a teammate at the bottom of the screen, click dead center on the ball...
...and the shot goes straight towards the top of the screen and right into the other team's possession. God, these controls are worthless.
And here I'd thought that 'No mute button 1/5' was just a baseless meme that no game designer would be clueless enough as to be deserving of it. Thank you, Mausland Productions, for proving me wrong.
Not a bad game overall, good balance of active and idle play mechanics, and the condensed GUI in the update is a marked improvement over the overly large interface from the original. If I might suggest something, though, it doesn't seem like the achievements do much of anything, and there's very little reason to put in the extra effort to unlock them before resetting the mine -- perhaps if getting an achievement provided a small boost to the global multiplier?
Laggy unimpressive graphics, boring repetitive gameplay, mechanics that are either too easy or too difficult... exactly what I expected from TurboNuke. Why they continue getting Badge of the Day slots is beyond me.
Is there a particular reason that the flavor text in this game includes numerous references to "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"? Or is reason, in fact, out to lunch?
