I think what everyone is trying to say is... since you can only turn on and off turrets, there isn't much to do. While what you have works nicely, it'd be nice if we could purchase new turret types, maybe upgrade the enemy as well.
as far as the zoom in/out goes, zoomed in I can't really see much of the track. zoomed out, I can hardly see the car. somewhere in the middle would be nice. I'm not grasping the balance you're using. I get not wanting the cars to zoom around TOO quickly, but if you're in 10th, and either get worn down, or they improve it's hard to feel like you're really getting anywhere
Love the idea of the game. I got sent to jail when I landed on it after rolling doubles on my first toss. If I recall correctly you go to the just visiting portion unless you get a go to jail card or you speed by throwing doubles 3 times in a row.
After a few upgrades in speed, it becomes more than difficult to control my snake to eat the apples. It'd be nice to turn off the controllable snake, especially since the automated snakes can more than handle the job.
While it does stretch out the game, the slow start makes it hard to want to keep going. There is a sound on button, that doesn't seem to do anything, or at least the label doesn't update. It'd be nice to know that clicking end day doesn't zoom you to the end, it just throws away all your icecream and you lose your money.
The play field is way too big. In order to remove one of the scroll bars I had to zoom out to 33%, which makes everything so small you can't read anything. And having a double scroll bar is ridiculous. Please look into a new organization method. Something with tabs, or pages, or different screens.
I got more than a blank screen, but runs horribly. Lags really bad, and other times just locks up. Hopefully the other browsers get better performance.
The only intentional way back to the Menu screen is meant to be by taking the door to the Level select screen and then taking the door without a number on it. Holding the S Key at the start of any level after the first will cause this, if this is not the case please let me know and I'll investigate further.
I've got things more or less figured out. The problem I have is when you mouse over something, it changes which city is 'active', changing the speed and requirements of certain resources. I'm all for having the ability to change, but I'd like to be able to select which city to use with more than a mouse over.
Hard to read that font over the translucent background. And the game seems to be sucking my resources... scrolling, typing, etc, is VERY slow. Would be nice if this didn't bog down my laptop. Or maybe if there was a quality setting.
There are some rather large drawbacks to what is a pretty good game. Having all of those weapons is great, gives a lot of flexibility to how you want to play. The problem there is getting through all of them. Which are passive, which are primary, which are secondary, etc. Having a filter or sort would be wonderful. Also, the game lags pretty badly for me, even on the low quality setting. Really hard to track the baddies when they're jumping around the screen or your cannon doesn't track smoothly.
Some sort of targeting system would be wonderful. Either everyone attack the guy I clicked, or something like Attack: Boss, closest, strongest, weakest, ranged, magic, healer, etc...
I see you mentioned this is early alpha, and there have been some great suggestions as to things to consider. But I wanted to give my $0.02 as well. First off, the game looks great. It functions very nicely, and that isn't something I see a lot of with Alpha releases. Some things I would love tweaked is the cost of the books is really high compared to how much money you make off of the monsters. Since they are the only thing you can buy it's a bit of a pain. Also, once something is equipped, I can't see the information on it, or remove it. Should there be other things to equip instead, it'd be nice to know which is stronger. As with the money, the experience seems to increase rather slowly as well compared to the cost of leveling up our raiders. All in all, fun game. I'm for sure going to keep playing. Thanks!
The controls are way too complex. I get what you're going for, and I like the concept, but as a new player it's very discouraging to see everything you need to learn to function properly. Something of a tutorial would help greatly. I'm having trouble sorting through everything to figure out where to start.
