good grief, that's a frantic kinda game... has anyone ever managed to save 2 smilies??? it takes a full second just for the second one to generate after you save the first! anyway, i finished the thing, and it was fun, in it's own minigamish way... 4/5
It did get a little old repeating the process, and it didn't seem like there were too many mistakes to be made. I imagine I missed some good content in the process of finishing it, but this is a rare point and click, I actually enjoyed the moderate level of difficulty.
Not a bad game, I only played the easy level (which was, shockingly enough, easy.) If there is an end to this, as the game's description implies, it would be nice to have some indication of overall progress (battle 60/100, for instance.) As it is, I can't see any way to lose once you reach a certain upgrade strength (again, on easy.) It really looks like this was set up for badges though, so hopefully all of that destruction will pay off a bit. I don't need a storyline to have fun, in fact, with the level of story that flash games generally support, it doesn't seem to be worthwhile, however, slower upgrades might be nice, and the naval barrage seems a bit too strong (once I had it, and a bit of money, no ground troops made it past the right edge of the battlefield...)
Cute game, rather too easy though. 4/5 I guess there is a balance between puzzle games that require you to do completely non-intuitive steps and those that require you to do obvious steps, I've yet to see one balance that well.
used much the same strategy as fantaflashe to beat the final boss... use autofire (hold down the A key, press and hold S, a second later press and hold D, a second later press and hold F, then right click on the game and release the keys. when you left click, the game still thinks you're holding the buttons. to stop, press the key again. the sequence is because it seems that the special effects of fire, thunder, and ice arrows don't work when they all hit at once, so you space them out...) send angels whenever you can, a dragon occasionally perhaps, and spam hobbits, elves, and dwarves (press 1,2,3 whenever the dwarf picture resets, that gave me a good rate of sending them out) the final boss barely made it past the trap with this strategy.
once you've got wizards and high powered arrows, shoot the enemy to death for a while while you train up your max mana (R key) the greater the max mana, the faster you gain it. once you've done this up to a few thousand or so, train several wizards (number depends on their level and the level of battle you're fighting, but 12 or so is usually more than enough.) they will typically find an equilibrium spot where they basically get stuck. they can easily kill anything weaker than a dragon, so throw a few arrows at the dragons when they pop up. once the archdemons start showing up, they need to be cleared as well. this will get you a ton of xp without much work while you train your mana up to 9999 (it doesn't take long...) I was getting something like 100,000 xp per level doing this, upgraded everything easily by level 12 or so.
I haven't finished the game yet, but I started playing this when it hit the main page... This is one boring game. If there were some variety to it, that would be something, but once you've seen all of the units, there's not much left but repeating the same level with more/stronger enemies. 2/5
ok, so this ridiculous, 'load a new saved game' thing is wretched... i won through level 4 with 4 lives left, so in order to beat the game, i have to do the same thing again. if i die once, it will reload the 'old' saved game. LAME
holy crap, finished the stupid game (how old is this thing now?) and found out that you had changed the badge. way to update the game immediately after putting it on here... the game itself varies between ridiculously easy and ludicrously hard. the only way i can see to beat the final boss is to have about 3 lives left and whack him to death while you're blinking. he doesn't seem to respond to kicks or hits like anything else in the game does.
wow, i wondered what a 1.5 game looked like... who gave this a 2 to get it up that high??? it's like the designer never actually tested it or something.
this is a really good game, loved it... a great example of the type. most of all, i enjoyed the fact that the designer actually bothered to make sure that there is ALWAYS somewhere safe to go on the screen, you've just got to find it... for those who can't get the points, read the little hints it gives you, the game tells you how to score higher!
a simple concept, nice retro graphics, relatively straightforward to get the hard badge, just keep practicing. if you can get all of the jumps up through eight after the first meatball thing rolls past, then you'll get the hard badge (unless you've got some wicked bad luck after that) just running along seems to do some good as well once the missiles are being fired. i don't know if there is some sort of score attached to them, but it seemed like my score was jumping up quickly even though i wasn't going over any obstacles.
warthogpuma: no glitch, they're cheating
buried treasure? i love simple games, but this one seems to be a bad balance between too hard (if you don't realize that the right edge is almost completely undefended) and too easy (if you do...)
played this one a while back, it's a decent quick game, but doesn't have a lot of replay value. i like the simple graphics, why bother with 3D balls or something silly like that when the little orange circles are perfectly fine?
not a bad game, the last boss must have knocked me off the missile 20 times before i managed to take it out though, that got pretty old. it also would have been nice to be able to figure out which surfaces you could jump onto and which you couldn't (girders, walls, and such) since there were times when it looked like you could jump down onto something but you just fell through it instead.
a definite improvement over the original, glad to see a game developer taking so many player suggestions to heart! i'm so glad you added a map feature to this. to find the 4 enemies, just head for any outside edge, you'll run into them eventually.
Some nice improvements over the original (and 1.5 update.) I especially like the speed up feature and the new training scheme is interesting (though decreasing max hp seems a bit pointless 95% of the time, could be that I haven't hit a map where it matters yet.) In any case, 5/5!
i liked the first one better, it seemed like upgrades were too easily obtained and the missions were extremely simple. additionally, there were some basic spelling and formatting errors that were pretty glaring (i have no idea how much money i had the entire time, for instance...) 2/5
