I take more damage from accelerators (hitting them while trying to enter, being thrown into other objects) than I gain height. Are they supposed to trick players into some form of self-sabotage? :p
Seconding the earlier comment that said this game was like playing slots. It's interesting, a bit annoying, and then suddenly the chain reaction goes off and things get...more interesting. But there really should be a warning for epilepsy sufferers. The flashing lights and shaking could trigger an attack.
Another tip: turning your enemy into a chicken at the right moment can solve many, many problems. Especially in the later levels. Because while chickens can fly, they can't swim underwater, they can't remain invisible, they can't cast charm and they most certainly don't carry boxes full of other annoying animals.
For those who have trouble with ninjas, here's a trick I found very effective: put points into the Terror Mastery skill, and cast terror on the ninjas as soon as they enter. The time damage will trigger their invisibility and the fear will keep them stuck at the entrance long enough for the invisibility to wear off by the time they reach your towers.
I really like this game, but there's a massive memory leak somewhere. I paused mid-level and went to attend to some other things, and when I came back about an hour later, Flash had crashed on 1.8GB usage. Hope the dev can fix it!
I like the replay value. It's very short but the upgrades and quests make it extremely replayable, plus the controls are almost dummy-proof. Although it did take me a while to figure out how to equip a new primary weapon. My only complaint is what others have brought up - the screen gets too full to see where my person is, and when that happens the lag slows the game very badly. I guess the dev won't be able to fix that any time soon, given the reply about the files being .bmp.
After horribly dismembering several hundred rag dolls in increasingly gruesome ways, I'm now having strange paranoid fantasies that the rag dolls are going to come back for revenge.
For those who don't understand the ending, Samsara is the cycle of reincarnation. You go through a series of reincarnations (the various animals) triggered by your own actions, until finally you escape the cycle (the room) and attain freedom from worldly suffering (enlightenment)
This is seriously one of the best Flash horror games I've ever played. The story is really good, the atmosphere is perfect, the mechanics are easy and the puzzles are logical (even if feeding the cat was a little stomach-turning). I would so happily fund the next chapter if I had the funds.
It's pretty good, on par with the previous games, but I find that having a party takes all the challenge out of it. Once you acquire your tank and healer and get a lead of 2-3 levels, even the bosses go down without much trouble. As solo ranged DPS in the previous games, combat was a real challenge of kiting. Now I just stand in one place and occasionally hit a skill button. Not even much strategy involved.
I am deeply annoyed to discover that I cannot snipe at enemies from across the river. Instead I have to go and rumble with them up close and in person, in a tiny area too small for kiting.
I really like this game. It's well conceptualized and the story and artwork remind me of Alice: Madness Returns and its precursor. Just a few minor issues: spike hitboxes feel a bit inconsistent, and the first puzzle on the clock level seems to be bugged (wrong clue maybe).
Thanks! Yes, Alice Madness Returns from American McGee are one of my inspirational games. This game will be modified soon. Now I'm working hard in a new game with more details, madnees, blood and fun! Please, Check in Facebook the ScreenShots and feel free to join and leave a comment!
