Well, a meh game. Doesn't stand out because this sort of thing has been done before, and done better. But for the simplicity of it, you certainly did "this" well enough. I'd like to add, do not take Crushmaster's advice. Any story you add will feel tacked on and uninteresting. In fact, I'm going to throw out there that maybe you should use what you learned making this game as a stepping stone into making your next game.
So... this was a fun game. It looks decent, it's interesting enough to keep me going for the duration. Honestly, I hope you (The developer) Come back to this at some point and maybe really dig into what you have going here and make a bigger game. Just an idea.
So, something I really would like to see for this would be a way to handle the deserts better. That is, If you have a rainforest just 2 squares away from the desert, the desert should be getting enough humidity to turn into grass over time. People, on the other hand, can deforest this rainforest and the desert would expand again.
So, a few things... First off, a mute button on the start page would be nice. Second, there is a bug, if you pause the game when a plane stops and starts to unload passengers, it will continue, and in fact, refuel, and reload with passengers. So basically, I circumvent time it's self and teleport passengers off and on my plane, as well as fuel into the tank... Yup, there's the time machine. Oh, and lastly, a kind of "day progress bar" would be nice.
Two things... First off, make methods, and have then linked to, every x seconds TIMES DELTA TIME. Second, If the problem is that they only "look" like they aren't dead, same rule applies, You need to update the swap in the "kill" function... I really hope you're making lasagna code... Because spaghetti code is so hard to work with... (Something to note. I am a C# developer, I don't even know if Action script HAS functions/methods/whatever-they're-called)
Bad game design to hell... and if you're going to reference a well established artifact... please know what it does. Pandora's box lays empty because the spirits within, including hope, have all left it. For all intensive purposes, it's just a box now... There's no maze hidden within it.
So... This game is actually pretty good. I didn't get to see the end though, I accidentally clicked and went right through it. MagicSandBox.. Please return to the project file, and give us more. Polish up the code and some of the graphics. If you do so, I will give you a 5/5. so far though 4/5 for lack of polish.
This... needs work... a lot of work... First off the bloody music, dear lord. Second off, you need to add a script to your camera's movement so that if it hits anything with a "wall" tag, it won't clip it, instead it'll just push up against it. but yeah, needs work.
I have made some changes to the game and ask if you could play it again as your feedback last time was very helpful. I have fixed some of the problems you named and some other improvements have been made like a map screen
Oh, U, what have you done wrong? is it your music? Or maybe your puzzles? Possibly the method of which you have been created? I must say, yes. The music is loud, obnoxious, and amounts to a hand full of hardly differentiated beeps that cannot be muted, or turned down, in any way. And the puzzles, I laugh to call them that, are nothing but a test of timing. With one of them being nothing more then "move right" and another never showing up again, despite promise. Oh and the methods. The developer's method for this game could only be called "lazy" for it takes a game in a two dimensional plane, and brings it down to such simplicity that it only need one dimension, it did not need Y, it only needed X. Oh poor U, cursed to not only poor spelling, but to a bad plot. U had the audacity to admit that all of our difficulties, guards, maniacs, keys, saws, and conveyors were nothing but a dream. U, has it's flaws, which I cannot forgive.
Rating 3/5... why? Because the game looks amazing, saving you almost getting a 5... but you start us out so bloody slow... Comfy is an achingly slow process of slowly crawling around and trying to shoot enemies... I love the graphics, they're amazing. I like how you handled burst and multishot, and I do enjoy the way the cannons beef up mid way... but dear god... It's so bloody slow...
We've new version with fixed first boss. Thanks for the comment:)
