Battles won't be animated. The biggest animation that will occur is probably fading damage numbers and something like what currently happens with your health when it gets low.
Meh. It's the same, again.
If you're going for something textbased, I hope you put more effort in storyline. As in "Have atleast 4 pages (size 14) of storyline". That way there will be some story and some enemy chopping - And then it was fun.
To entertain a larger userbase, it won't be a pure textrpg.
Dungeons will be moved through by the player - however, the battles aren't animated, the storyline is still all text, and well, there is a small possibility of a world map.
... Alright, I'll spill it. Rogue is a ASCII art old-school game, where you are a character that goes dungeon crawling. The sequel to this game will have some system like that, travelling from area to area to get to the next town. On the way there, you will find friend, foe, and lots of treasure. One keypoint in the game will be about Diablo - is the world really "paradise", or heaven, when Angels reign?
With no real goal, the game lacks a key point. There is no real reason to play, and such, there is no drive to play, and the game gets boring. I also haven't really seen the "S" key in action...
Whilst it's certainly a thrill to get your first game out, try to learn some more actionscript, and make games with a higher level of interactivity. Seeing however, that you are under 13, I find this a quite good start. (User has parent-approval)
Whilst this looks like some programming work, but nothing too hard... your attitude makes me never ever want to work with you. Some of the programmers are gamers too.
First of all: You are NOT an awesome programmer. All I have seen here is some animation, Key.isDown, and onRelease. And maybe some music code too, but you forgot the MUTE.
Go make an rpg with dungeon crawling and multiple party members, that way you'll get something ABOVE 3/5.
There.
Also, try removing the stuff on your profile - it makes you look arrogant, yet I think you only got a few bad responses on your first game, and I can tell you: It happens.
Whilst I like the game, I also see unbalanced gameplay. I haven't died yet, and have actually finished a level - but... where it at first was "keep your head down", I figured out that getting hit only eats 2 HP. With crystals littering the field, the game quickly becomes easy.
Strong attacks have a use. You do 2 to 3 x more damage, whilst recieving 1.5 more damage, and halving your armor.
The turning point (sequel) is on it's way, but in due time. Today, I did a part of the exploration engine again.
