Great production values. Keeps the simple gameplay of Last Stand 1 while adding a new twist with the searching and traveling. Traps are a nice twist too.
Lame game. You just don't have enough moves and the movement/combat feels clunky. The only redeeming feature of this game is heads popping off enemies, but even then its the same animation x100.
This is one of the best games I've played on Kongregate. The graphics and animation are excellent and they don't lag (even on my crappy system). The gameplay is relentlessly difficult but never unfair, and the levels are long enough to be satisfying without being needlessly repetitive like some Flash games.
Really fun game. I only have two complaints: First of all, the gold coin graphics cause way too much lag. Is there a reason why each coin has to cast a separate shadow? Second, the Antagonist ultimate weapon (OMGWTFBBQ) is completely useless. It does practically nothing. You can test it on sandbox mode to try to score kills with it, and it is difficult to even kill anything at all.
The bosses are lame as well. As long as you max out building health, it will never kill you; just keep building new towers as it (slowly) destroys your old ones. Would be nice for the later bosses to be more than just "the first boss with more health".
This game is incredibly fun at low levels but the high-level gameplay is boring. Enemies have too much HP, but so do your towers; even on Elite difficulty all you have to do is constantly build towers and spam special abilities. High level enemies have 10 times as much health but don't do any more damage than the basic stuff, and there are WAY TOO MANY ENEMIES. Fighting 12 waves of 80 enemies each doesn't make it any harder, it just makes it take longer. Each enemy you kill gives you just enough points to buy more support skills to kill more enemies.
I really liked this game, but weapon balance seems a bit off. The basic heavy cannon is so much stronger than everything else, there's not much point in spending gold on the fancy stuff. For the harder levels, one heavy cannon protected by health boost and shields seems by far the easiest way to go. Even with lots of upgrades, the machinegun, flak, sniper, and radioplasma simply don't do enough damage to kill the tougher enemies. Lightning and apocalypse guns can clear the screen in one shot, but the reload time is so long you're likely to die in between shots.
Also, the "advanced defenders" are vastly underpowered for their cost, and their upgrades suck! The archer only gets +10 anti-air per level, but after a few levels it starts costing upward of 160 gold just to upgrade +10. You would be much better off just buying a 2nd archer.
Game balance is still a bit wacky. The "ultimate mastery" upgrade is so overpowered that the game becomes really easy once you get it. Dexer upgrades are still not balanced. Fully generalized dexers have 350+ base damage at Level 9, (Legendary) while a specialized dexer will have only 100ish. Even with 91% crit, the specialized dexer does less damage on a critical strike than the generalized one, and the generalized one attacks faster.
