Way too easy, way too quick to beat. The weapons are useless, the boss fight too long (and too Gannon), all the shops, for me, were in the first five blocks, so I couldn't buy weapons without backtracking. The mechanics are promising, but I beat the game (with a lot of mistakes) with over half an hour left, so I never got to see the mix up of the castle, not that it would mean much, since half the blocks are the same, just flipped. If this was a one coder game, it would be a 4/5, good start, but needs some polish. I expect way more from Armor Games though, 2/5.
The concept is good, but it's just not presented in the best way. You're walked through way too much, and for way too long. A lot of the help can be combined so every click isn't followed by the hint screen. Since the playback only plays the melody, it's not listening and placing the tiles correctly, it's placing the red ones correctly and fitting the rest in.
Case in point, Good Morning to all, how do I choose where the non melody ones go? I can't, since it doesn't play, so I guess.
Two recommendations: One, change the icon when it is fully upgraded, two, make the poo do nothing when upgraded. I hate going super fast, just to hit poo and slow down like I hit a wall.
"Game completed – You'll understand this game and badge name when you're older, kids."
How old do I have to be? I don't get it, and I was around for Reagan.
The hit boxes in this game are kind of ridiculous. The spiders, and coconuts, just have to touch you, not the bowl, so movement has to be watched. The fish can be a tad hard to find the right spot, and I'm using a mouse. The sun spot game, first version, is too small to dodge the dark clouds without hitting them, the second version is fine though.
I would give this a 4/5, but I liked week one, and this is just as good, and I want to see more, so 5/5.
Thanks for the suggestions! I think I'm going to make the hitbox on the sun slightly smaller, and the hitbox on the fish slightly bigger. And I can't thank you enough for the 5/5! Some people don't realize this, but every single rating makes a huge difference.
I felt like I've played this game with every top down shooter as of late. Base/Ship goes dark, team gets sent in, monsters/aliens abound, scary/off-putting story told through logs, strafe and hold down the mouse button, game over.
That said, this is a beautifully done game, and I didn't think flash could have this quality. The sub-systems are well done, and its fun to play. I just wish it was a different game.
I never really liked the Creeper series, though I wanted to, mainly because the top down was always a bit of a logistical problem for me, but this is excellent.
