Really don't like that your perfect fishing combo can be interrupted by catching nothing. My top combos have ended with that. I've gotten perfect on getting nothing and then perfect after, but the combo is broken.
I seem to be having trouble today getting it to acknowledge it's a new day.
Perfect catches can never result in "catching nothing". If you get "nothing", that means you got an imperfect catch on a special item (most notably treasure boxes)
Aiming for checkpoints and setting goals for a protein/ protein cluster would be good as far as molding the shape the player takes. Different levels with finite levels of shape or connections could be nice. Comedy could be good such as explaining how something was messed up by failing a level would be good (such as color blind or blindness maybe) with animations as a possibility. Having a preview mode with the ai completing levels before players rapidly to give an idea of where to go or zooming in from far out to give an idea of the whole picture would be good.
3/5 -3 for mechanics and luck factor importance. +1 for educational value. Main problems with game are basically not knowing if the proteins you currently see will still be there when you get close enough. I clicked on one protein and there wasn't any proteins in range other than the one I was just on (not even red ones or faded ones). Pulling out to see the whole structure would be nice. Numbering proteins for a countdown to tell time until they'll be useless would be good (or explanation in tutorial as to why and when they fade). I feel like controlling the direction could be better. Easier difficulty could have arrow keys or follow mouse function. Harder difficulty could shrink the area you can go to next with each click. Just some ideas I thought of.
Can't get the first key in the third room. Hadn't played this in a while so I tried to figure out if I didn't do anything. Tried to get a perfect score on both games to make sure it wasn't that, and it's not. So there is a glitch that makes this game impossible to beat.
I got the badges a while ago. There are guides if you're having trouble. Learning which side the soldiers and demons come from is important. Once you know what side they'll come from, put wizard towers on the side of the knights. Archer towers go throughout. Dwarf cannons are very effective with their final upgrades of missiles and cluster bombs. Barbarians can throw axes to hit air enemies and the reinforcements can also be upgraded until they carry spears to hit flying enemies.
I want an endless mode or a way to add waves. Problem with endless mode is you'd easily run out of places to place things. 50 waves might be obtainable, so that could be the goal.
The reason launching games get away with having you start at the begging and buying upgrades necessary to complete them is that earlier problems become miniscule or much easier. Things are just as punishing early on as they are later. Having the double jump and flying makes the beginning easier, but it doesn't make it faster.
Hate when the tutorials interrupt. I'm playing a game about timing and you want me to stop not knowing exactly how long my action took and leaving it to chance that I can adjust to the new timing. Temporary invulnerability or an actual tutorial is required.
I wish there was a way to deactivate upgrades. Trying to get the fuel fajita, but I go too quickly. Don't know if it's a glitch that I don't hit them all as I think I've seen myself hit them. Don't know if sweet impact, the hidden speed bonus, and using other gummies negates when you hit others.
I don't really like the controls. Moving in one direction is fine, but more complicated stuff is just annoying.
Some things don't let you know what you can and can't stand on so you have to move around hoping you get lucky. Jumping around trying to find something that actually is a platform when other things that look like platforms aren't is annoying. Then if you fall from certain points, it's even more annoying to have to get back to where you were.
There are good things in this game, it's too frustrating for me to really want to play. To me, if a game has weaker game mechanics, then it should be easier. If a game is harder then it should have better game mechanics to allow you to accomplish your goals if you do things correctly. Difficulty can be fun, but this just gets a bit too far on the annoying side for me.
Level 11 (boss 2) can be easily farmed. I got over $80000 and 3000 bullets from farming him. Drops bullets in increments of 50 and money in increments of $500. Drops something every time they turn around. Jumping over and away from them is just about all you need to do. Just a really easy way to make this game really easy.
"Blade's edge challenge" says to beat the level with less than 40 upgrades. I did it with about 10 upgrades. Being clear on what is meant by "upgrades" would be good. I'm guessing it's referring to hero talent and skill points, but it clearly points to upgrades when referring to "upgrades".
Good game besides "The Tower of Glory". That level is really about luck. It could be that computer speeds are faster than when this was made, but still it's not an excuse. The first three frames of the level become annoying as the fourth and fifth are the real challenge. Needed a checkpoint after the first 3 so it wouldn't be as annoying. Not being able to see the top of frame 4 or bottom of frame 5 just made it that much more frustrating at trying to hit that switch properly. Getting out after hitting the switch is the real problem though as avoiding the spikes going up or getting down is quite precise and the controls are not good enough for such precision to be reasonable.
Was gonna give this a 4/5, but gave it a 3/5 because of the last level.
There's a difference between annoying and challenging. The last level is mostly annoying.
