Just beat the game with Bio. In this game I was tweaking out my strength, using ONLY items that gave me the biggest strength increases and managed to get around 650 strength. I also restat on the last boss (the Judge) and put all my points to strength. I then used agile exposure to get 100% more damage on the Judge, then hit her with destroy.
@Gorl - I dont see whats so mindless about it. Its an awesome friggen game. You have to level up to do well in the battles, but leveling up alone wont cut it. You need strategy. You can only take 7 abilities with you into battle - that takes forethought and planning. Using them well IN battle sometimes requires a bit of luck to go along with it. Its not at all mindless and the storyline makes you want to see whats coming up next.
@ Sheniqua - To kill the roach, use subversion. Its in your abilities screen - it switches healing with damage. So when you attack the roach you will heal him, but when he castes heal on himself, he'll be hurt instead of healed. If that doesn't work, try a giant can of Raid.
So I see out of all the things they upgraded, they still haven't fixed the COMPLETELY-RANDOM-WIN-OR-LOSE factor. I'm on wave 15 and I'm facing 3 mortars, 10 solders, 1 flame thrower, 1 bazooka, and a motorcycle. I've barely had time to buy even 1 engineer.
darkslayer - you have to get to an absolutely ridiculous level with a faction before they'll let you do their final quest. You cannot be just 'friendly'. You must be ALLIES with them. Its the only way. To get the final achievement in this game (which includes becoming allies with 3 factions) means you'll be playing the game for months at a time.
So I tried again and lost. I tried a second time - but when the champion (boss) window opens up, now there's no check button to click to go forward. I cant click on anything because the check button never came up, so now I'm stuck on that window. Now I'll have to click refresh and re-load the game, which doesn't happen 9 times out of 10 because the hour-glass thingy fails to load. THIS IS THE MOST BUGGY GAME ON KONGREGATE!!!
When I loaded the game again, I'm on level 9 now, though I was not supposed to be able to advance to level 9 until I beat the second boss - which I did and got the end-game. However, I click on the bosses window, and guess what? There's the second boss, standing right there! I have to beat him again...
Holy f*ing shit, I really cannot believe how goddam buggy this game is. Ok, just now I beat the game. How? I was fighting the second boss. The background failed to load. I normal-hit him and he went back across the screen and we were both apparently stuck, unable to move forwards. Being stuck I kept using TAUNT over and over to hit him from across the screen. Finally he disappears. When this happens, it shows me the end of the game - and the end-game keeps repeating over and over again.
Ok, it says "A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 10 to run slowly. If this continues, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort script?" - If I say yes, the game freezes. If I say no, nothing happens, and the message comes up again in a few seconds.
8. The action menu at the bottom of the screen pops up too fast and I cant read what the opponent's attack was. Same is true for tips at the start of a battle, before the contenders' stats are shown.
7. The "Swords and Sandals III" logo appears before every battle, and stays there for 10 seconds, long after the battle has already started. I cant see what I'm doing clearly.
You have all the weapon shops restock their supplies after 20 battles. However, this game causes my browser to crash after only 6 or 7 battles. I get the message "An error has occured while processing this script. Do you want to abort this script?" - or something along those lines, and I'm forced to click abort. To play the game I have to refresh - then the stock re-supply starts over at 20 battles every time.
4. In shops, when I click on an item and it tells me its stats, also show me the stats of what I'm wearing so I dont have to leave the shop, go to status, click on what I'm wearing and compare it to what I just saw.
1. Place an option for EXTREMELY simplified animation. Think Final Fantasy 1 for the Nintendo. That will speed up game play.
2. Fix the instructions at the start of the game. I could never read them because page 2 is superimposed on page 1, and page 3 is the same way on page 2.
3. Multiple bug fixes are needed - for example, I just now finished a fight and got Battle Trance, but the Battle Trance graphic stayed on the screen for the rest of the game.
