Completed final boss and (saved the world) with two dragon-born breathing fire, standing next to a fartmancer stinking up the room. Another day at Kongregate :D
An excellent game. The battle system is a bit different, and all the better for that. I completed the game with not too much difficulty, apart from the challenging spike at the final battle.
I'm loving this. But there appears to be a mistake in the Elite tutorials, Review section, stage 4/6, line 5. It reads "trace(stringOne+StringOne); // blahblah" but there seems to be an extra space before the 'blahblah'. Remember, as mentioned in an earlier tutorial, SPACES ARE IMPORTANT. Do I get a programmer's cookie or a signed cheque for $2.56?
Fantastic game, really takes me back to the old days. I think the badge seems to be broken as I got to level 4, watched a video, couldn't get past that. Seems to be the end of the game for now. But the 'Sudo Unlock Badge' isn't showing my level progress. Is reaching level 4 in the game the same as reaching level 11 for the badge?
There's a bug in the Malevolence Engine. It classes zero length strings as odd, when zero is actually even. This can be seen easily on the Milidogs level (On level map, Second down in the first column of five levels). Level instructions: 'With Blue as 1 and Red as 0, accept odd binary strings". Expose the bug by a) building a straight path from the entrance to the exit, and testing with a zero string. This is (correctly) rejected. Then b) build a complete level, including routing the zero string straight to the exit. This is (incorrectly) accepted as flawless!
This is potentally a lovely game but it is SLOWWW SLOWW SLOOWW - my cats appear to be floating and moonwalking. Please give an option to remove a couple of layers of scrolling or animation, to speed it up. you're clearly a skilled programmer, it shouldn't be hard.
That might help with the responsiveness of the jumping too. It's especially prone to missing keypresses when I have to make several jumps in a row with exact timing, which is frustrating.
One of the greatest games on this site. Real atmosphere. Congratulations on creating something genuinely new. One point I don't quite understand - how it is possible to kill the robot on the final level? There's nothing for him to fall down, but every time I play the final level, he seems to die after a minute or two.
So I open this game. My first go - miss some bullets, get some ships. Score: 100. OK, not bad.
My second go - I seem to be hitting a lot of ships, quite nice, this game almost seems to be playing itself. My score: 53,595. Is that a good or a bad score? I have no idea.
An hour later, I work out how to look at the high score chart. What's that? 53,595 is the #2 all time high score out of over 91,000 players?? OMG WTF BBQ !!!
Two hours later, I've got all the upgrades, have put my name in, but still can't get a 10th of the score I got on my second go with no upgrades. Great game :)
I remember playing this and completing it when it first came out all these years ago. l loved it. I decided to give it another go just today. Sadly this game is suffering from code rot. Maybe it's using an outdated version of Flash or something, but there are so many glitches that it's unplayable. I can't get even the Easy badge, and if you are playing this as part of the 'Your First Quest' badge, forget it. It's unplayable.
Superb! The hardest part for me was working out how to beat the final boss. I died many times there. Tip: It is possible, but not through your own weapons. I know, you've spent the entire game upgrading your weapons and power-ups, but at the end, they're useless. A bit annoying, but ace game nevertheless. Ended with 100%.
Hi Mindfulxp. I'm a deaf gamer. Looks like a lovely game, I love the playing with light and darkness, but the screen went blank after the first platform section. Reading the comments, I see you're supposed to walk towards a sound. Obviously that's impossible for me, being deaf and all that. I wandered around for a bit hoping to stumble on the next trigger, but nothing.
Is it possible to incorporate some sort of visual cue? Even a softly glowing light in the corner of the screen? Would also help other hard-of-hearing people or people without surround sound.
