I didn't really like this game. I can tell that a lot of effort was put into the artwork and I do like the background art, but a lot of the humanoid renditions were pretty laughable. I didn't like the story, either. How did the mayor's daughter pretend to be a butterfly? Was Derrida blind? I mean, butterfly people look pretty radically different. Also, I never got any explanation as to what the amulet of power did, though of course I figured it out through process of elimination, I feel there should have been something leading me to it other than the main girl going "I NEED TO MAKE THIS AMULET" when I set up the pot. The scroll ball errors and the way the game did not fit on my laptop screen (768 pixels tall) so I had to scroll up to see text and scroll down to use items was annoying as well. But good effort anyway, I guess.
Fun, interesting little game. I unlocked every mask except the Boss one. Where boss at? :{ I killed those spiky headed dudes right before exiting on two occasions, those are the closest things I've seen to bosses in one playthrough + a couple levels.
Important thing is that it would be nice to have a little instructions manual on the menu or else a tutorial that freezes the game so you can read the text, as during the game I kind of wasn't able to catch most of the explanatory text because 1) I was too busy watching where I was falling and 2) My laptop is kind of small-ish, and this game (tutorial text mostly) looks really small on kongregate.
I've gotten to the point where the ice place starts becoming an ashy volcanic place, and I find two monsters around that area really hard. The stone plate thing in the cave of treasure, and the turtle thing guarding a treasure chest. The two stone plate things just keep freezing nonstop, even if I use regen to break them out they end up dying. Harder than bossfight imo, yes I am using anti-status defect and resist ice equips. As for the turtle, the 2nd wave comes with 4 kamikaze rocks, and they all immediately commit suicide, killing my dudes. Maybe I need to switch equips, I sure as hell hope I don't have to grind.
Also, the last level is really badly designed! It is boring and easy for the ball to just helplessly fall into the death zone. One time I launched the ball and it went straight around to the left part and almost into death, but luckily it fell into one of those round things. Also, the final boss: my ball was at the top of the screen when he appeared, so it just repeatedly bounced off the boss until it died. Miserable final boss! Don't get me wrong, I'm really happy that you made this, I just want to see it improved as best as possible! Pinball adventures are very uncommon, and I enjoyed this game!
Also, I strongly suggest you program the bounty system to try to avoid giving the same quest repeatedly, so the player can more easily have a look at all the lovely quests you've included in each level! I remember in one level I had "defeat the boss!" three times in a row from as soon as I started the level. I'm not sure if the ball upgrade dealy is necessary, though you could go in that direction if you wanted.
Like everyone else, I think the physics is a HUGE problem. Too jerky, and it accelerates after hitting something way too fast sometimes, it almost looks glitchy in appearance. Take a look at that old microsoft Space Cadet pinball game or Pokemon Pinball to see the kind of physics most people might like better. Furthermore, is it the developers' intention for gold coins to be left scattered around the field if the ball is moving too fast for the coins to follow? This isn't aesthetically pleasing, it looks like the enemies/ball are leaking yellow pixels around the field, giving it a kind of glitchy "this isn't supposed to happen" appearance.
It was really a terrible, TERRIBLE idea to have the white castle challenge assigned to this game. First of all, there is already a better Castle Wars 2 apparently. Secondly, this game is very glitchy. Multiplayer is updated (still has bugs), but single player has VERY important problems. Not being able to discard is a huge issue. A lot of negative attention is being brought to this game, and I'm not sure if this is fair to the developer.
Easy game, unpolished graphics, but enjoyable. I agree with everyone else that it would be even more enjoyable if the game was more encouraging and "congratulatory." 4/5, has potential.
I don't hate the circle thing that much, but I don't think it's great either. It reminds me of a pencil sharpener. Especially since the balls are pencil-colored. I think it would help if the balls were different colored, and perhaps if the circle itself was designed a little better. I like simplicity, but it really, really, reminds me of a pencil sharpener. I appreciate the crazy amount of effort put into making this game, but it really isn't the kind of game I would enjoy playing.
Stuck at 62 (got 63 after reading the comments), needs a hint system and probably a save feature if you want people who gave up to even think about coming back and playing this again. The premise is pretty similar to games like Upgrade Complete, since the player is basically jumping at pixels for a long time to "level up," but it plays much more annoying. Lots of backtracking if you mess up the very precise jumping required.
I just beat the game on hard. Even though I wasn't planning on playing the game again, I think there would be some note at the difficulty select screen that the player won't get any cheats here, the text that is there currently is misleading. I was kind of okay at the unforeseeable instant death parts except for when they were at the very end of the level. That's a bit TOO much of a "screw you" for me to not get a little mad about. I am also not quite sure what each glowing weapon effect did. The white one is the only one I don't know, actually, but I could use some clarification on the other ones. I also kind of wish holding down s would autoattack.
It DOESN'T reset "everything" when you lose to the nightmare, you keep your gems and extra skills, and it doesn't take very long to gain what you lost back. Stop whining, I didn't beat the nightmare until after I beat the game. It's part of the game, deal with it.
Anyway, this is a great game to play, though I have to rate it down for the graphics. I don't have a problem with pixels at all, it's just that the portrait and ending pictures are clearly not very well drawn. 4/5 great game.
Too slow, lackluster graphics, REALLY bad writing/dialogue. This might have been considered really awesome about five years ago, but it's really not fun to play at all in this day and age.
I beat the game without that much difficulty. However, this game isn't that enjoyable. The bosses... are not much of bosses. It seems like you want them to look like some epic boss from a bullet hell game. However, your game has tiny red pellets for bullets, so dodging them while keeping the distracting boss in view is just an eyesore. Besides, there's no use in dodging the bullets when I get a constant stream of white stars throughout the entire battle.
Oh boy, I sure do love GRINDING!
Good thing this game wasn't meant to be played all in one sitting, I guess.
Aside from this game being nothing new, it does have good graphics, and the medals system seems to have been improved since last I played it.
Even if it does autosave, this is the kind of game I do not feel tempted to play again.
I got completely unknown tier 12. The endgame gear can be pretty cool. Unfortunately, I only got a pile of the best swords at the very last week. Fortunately, I used the "continue the game" feature to check them out.
Anyway, cool, I guess this is a Princess Maker clone. However, unlike Princess Maker, this game is a "play once and never again" kind of game. Nevertheless, I hope that this type of game becomes popular so others can improve on making flash versions of this game type.
The flickering room was horrible and hurt my eyes. It doesn't matter if "the room is so easy you can finish is quickly," it was annoying as hell. I understand why it's there, but I think you could have executed it better.
The game was interesting, I suppose. The scenery was kind of nice, but this isn't so amazing.
No wonder the thumbnail picture looked so nice compared to the rest of actual in-game artwork; you COPIED another picture (the first image result for Ranka Lee) and didn't even give credit. How disgusting.
