Level resets but time doesn't on player death is a real pain. It pretty much means that rather than accept my mistakes and move on, I have to exit to the main menu every time I fall off the bottom of the map, which puts an obstacle between me and my fun. Having the cat run around and knock things off, fun. Restarting because I missed a moving platform or lost my footing on the things I am supposed to knock down, not fun at all. Over all, game is not fun.
The controls are super finicky. Like "I had trouble even getting the game to a point I could actually tell what was going on" finicky. When I tried to move my pointer around, I completely flipped over before I could even tell what was happening.
Over all, a good time waster. However the constant "go play on mobile" is annoying. Also, there should a) be an indication that the view can be moved with the arrow keys and b) some sort mini-map so I can tell when a fox or bunny or bird is inbound.
This opens to a big ad for the creator's other games. This is not inherently a bad thing, except that the obvious place to click to make the ad go away instead takes the player to that site. Getting it to go away requires parsing the screen and finding the teeny-tiny close button. The "game" itself is simply a bunch of objects that can be moved around to make "fantastic" ice-cream cones and sundaes.
In case you cannot tell, I am unimpressed.
This isn't a bad game, per ce, but it also doesn't have any sort of reason for me to play it more than once. I got to the 4th platform and chose to dive, but I think I could have climbed much higher. The dive, which was supposed to be "cool", was a fairly lack-luster plummet. Honestly, if the game obviously correlated how I do climbing with what I get as I fall, it would be significantly better. If you are thinking of playing this, go play "Feed the King" instead.
The only luck based level I encountered was the one with 2 enemies and 6 planets. Other than that, a successful strategy worked regardless of how the enemies attacked eachother. I restarted more often because of my own mistakes than because of bad luck.
@minisoccer> the right most upgrade in the top level of each tree reduces cooldown time. It is a pain to get. Looking at the math, it looks like levels 2 and 3 are probably worth a whole lot less than level 1.
Also, there is a bestiary on the map. It even includes pictures of the various monsters.
I will agree, however, that the upgrades aren't all that great. It would be great if there were some sort of buddy who would take care of the little stuff that gets out in front of the mob of rock monsters, ogres, and orcs. Also, shooting more than 1 arrow at a time, though unrealistic, would be cool.
Nice game. Found a bug in the tutorial. I killed the recon officer as soon as he showed up, which gave me the "finished tutorial" badge, but the tutorial was not done and I still had a bunch of mining to do. Maybe make it so that the officer only spawns when you get told to take down the 50 pirates.
Trading is totally broken. I managed to make over 3 million gold just moving bananas, rice, and corn between the first two ports. At some point, I was just doing it because I could.
Thanks, also it's a college project designed as a concept for something that I might continue.
