Okay, since everyone here has problem with the boss, here is a tip that will help beat boss before even getting full upgrades(still requires to be not too far from it, but at max it will be a total breeze): use time freeze exactly when he prepares to ROAR and summon, this will interrupt his summoning, making him both stunned and unable to summon for next 10 seconds or so, plenty of time to purely damage him or take down that annoying tower.
I think there is a bug with minigame - gives me 30k+ cash every time I lose instead of removing 1k coins. Also minigame is realy hard, I am not realy good at those fast clickings but I am still pretty skilled at gaming and the record I had was 930, usually it's a little under 900.. first 30 seconds you only get around 300 score even with clicking everything through.. and 70 clicks in next 30 seconds is pretty hard, considering how it often bugs and doesn't count the click, annoying when you need to double click for the game to actually react.
I think hard and insane should give more coins than normal or slow. I started with xtreme straight on and only later figured it actually gives same as normal.
As far as weapons/ships go, I suggest: buy 4 magnets for your starter ship > save for high energy laser > save for cheap 3 slot ship(6.5k) > buy homing missiles.. after getting homing missiles only bosses pose some challenge even with 3 slots, I suggest getting 4x 50% money after getting missiles and just buying whatever you want with small farming :)
Game is pretty good, totally underrated too - not as cash cow as most other MMO on this site(yes, it may seem like they ask money every step, but you can get a LOT of free gems and the best items are actually made without spending money, so money is mostly to speed progress up).. well, what it lacks is amount of content IMO - I easily beat whole game in a few days, and the only thing left to do is do it on higher difficulty which isn't as interesting, and after you actually beat higher difficulties - you are simply out of content except for grinding better items.(which isn't too fun) Basically until more content is added it will have to do with 4/5, if more gets added I will happily change to 5/5
Don't upgrade speed too much, around tier 3(check tiers on the top) is the crititcal point, past that you will die if you can't 1 shot your opponents because you will go off screen almost instantly.
I am looking at the possibility to allow players to "downgrade" the speed when they want that. Speed is really most useful when you want to "cut" through easy enemies and rack up XP and Loot very very fast.
It sometimes freezes when you try to upgrade your characters job, only noticable when you have around 100 students to upgrade, every 10th or so will freeze the game during upgrade.
Pretty raw as it is right now:
Playing melee is out of question, you are getting blocked by your own troops.
Playing mage is the way to go atm if you want to win game easily(go for empire mage pure int + remaining into vit, just spam the dark souls spell while maintaining spider, magic shield and dark aura, heck you don't even need that, just spamming souls is enough, but it fastens the game up a bit if you use other stuff too)
I really hope your own units won't hinder you in next patch - realy makes you lose hope on playing melee(and I tried, but damn that's annoying)
I wonder what's the point of fighting wanderers(pvp)? Oo Seems very low reward for me, and is 100% harder than monsters(and sometimes harder than boss)
You should try this game out before rating it low people, it is a long load, and it's not fully kong adapted, but it's a realy great game, more than it's current rating of 2.7 is!
PS: you can right click the game and click full screen, to play without problems!
Reached day 29, level 250 or so, got kind of bored.
If anyone is having hard time, here is what you should do: start out with putting all lvl up points in defence. After you see that you can handle the foes next few lvls, start pumping all stats into LUCK, 1k luck = mostly red and green drops only, 2k luck = only green items drop, and near 100% critical chance(always keep luck on 2k, it will be providing you with top gear every level)
When you got to 2k luck, you basically won the game, in day 29 I kill boss in 5-8 criticals, which is less than a second and mostly not even enough for him to attack, and even if he does, it's only a 1/5th of HP or so, which regenerates or restores almost instantly with next potion.
Didn't see such amazing story and variety of choices since Starwish RPG shooter.. Amazing job! The only thing I didn't like is that true ending is fixed, I think you should have made variety of them. But at least it explains why it is the only possible ending.
I never liked when games had puzzles taking half an hour to figure out, so I also enjoyed that the puzzles were small and simple :D
That's my 2nd game I will favorite, and considering I played 3k+ flash games, that's quite an achievement :D
@HummaKavula: stage 2 is very unique level. After you lose your first battle against 2k+ units storywise you get something like special weapon(you can't tell that you have it, but you got it) and fight against all units that enemy started with becomes super easy. All the units that enemy got by recruiting are gonna be killable without any boost to your strength though.
Great game, much better than bullet heaven too. Story telling could get a tier higher, but that has already been told. I like the art style, but it could get some polishing too. More effects upon upgrading something is a must(like fire turning into green for instance). It feels too grindy when you upgrade something with no visual change and simply +% damage.
I'm flattered, but I don't know if I'd consider it better than Bullet Heaven. Compared to Matt, my artistic ability blows, and BH has way more polish and better sound effects. As for the upgrades, I agree about adding more visual changes. I'm not sure why I gave that treatment to some of the abilities, but not others. Oh well, a lesson learned for future projects. :D
Thanks, this looks like our fail "bug" (: soory about this!
