This might be the dumbest game on all of Kongregate. Pointless objective to the game, no instructions, mysterious buttons that might or might not mean something, annoyingly repetitive music, uninspired graphics. I can't imagine a game delivering less than this one does. It violates more principles of the "Understanding Video Games" series than any other game on Kongregate. If it didn't have a card, I never would have played it after the first time it came on Kongregate, where it took me all of 30 seconds to decide that it sucks.
Adventure mode on this game is idiotic. Too much luck involved on the last mission. Whoever decided that this badge is "medium" while level 50 on Monster's Den is "impossible" needs to check their dictionary for the definitions of those words.
Lots of angry comments from people. Why? This game is pretty fun once you get the strategy down. I've beaten it three times already. I can understand those who have computer performance issues (I tend to agree with the floating numbers comment), but I can think of several games here that are rated above 3.5 that are not as fun as this one.
Fun game, a bit too easy. The reason I know it's too easy is because I usually suck at Asteroids-type games, but I rock at this one. :-) Gets repetitive after a while. I enjoyed it though. Love the autofire. The most annoying thing about shooter games is having to mash the fire button for hours. 4/5
Why is this game rated so highly? I think it sucks. In normal hand-to-hand combat mode, it's just a matter of standing next to the opponent and mashing buttons. Most of the grenades and mines are useless. I just don't get it. 2/5.
The lag/earthquake-effect sucks. Otherwise a fun game. I would give it 5 out of 5 if it didn't have the lag/earthquake effect, which makes gameplay near-impossible on the tougher levels. Instead, I give it a 3 out of 5.
Also, the crossfire badge should be hard, not medium.
This game sucks. The safe game is almost impossible to win with a trackball. And what is the point of the game? There's no real mental challenge to it.
My one complaint about the game is that it is WAY too easy after level 9. The infinite levels challenge needs to have the monsters beefed up considerably. Even the boss monster groups are way too weak. Beyond level 20, I am killing them all before they have a chance to attack once. For the non-boss monster groups, it's even easier. I don't need all four group members to take them out. Up to level 9, though, it's a fun game.
It also seems like they removed a lot of the time bonus markers. I used to average around 50-60K points per game, and now I am having a hard time cracking 30K. Used to be a great game, but now I'm done with it.
If you are going to mess with a good game, make a sequel. Don't screw up a game that people are already used to. Dropping my rating to 1/5, as a stupidity/poor judgment penalty for the game maker.
