Well, now I'm looking forward to CT2: Level Pack. With the bugs ironed out, and better design choices. I must say the devs are responsive in the comments - hopefully we'll see those patches actually released.
I saw this game out on other sites quite a while before it came out on Kong. In all that time, did nobody else comment on the numerous obvious weaknesses and bugs of this sequel? Or does releasing "big" games have its own momentum that can't be postponed for repairs? Devs have to eat, or something like that. Either way... man. I was so stoked until I actually played it.
Iee5665's comment - it is traditional Chinese, which I speak natively - says: This game is terrific, the kitty's so soft ^_^, I like it, this dev will be the first person I sponsor!
This is a classic example of the game design fallacy: One pony minigame was fun, two must be better! Or for that matter: Lucky Tower 1 was fun, 2 must be better :(
1) If I'm right, the max is 58 upgrade points - the fact that there's no way to get a fully-upgraded fleet makes me sad.
2) It would be great if the enemy could use special attacks too. That would let you have a lot more options for randomization, and increase replayability. I hope this isn't asking too much - I can easily see this becoming the battleship equivalent of Xyth :P
There are a few special attacks for the AI : double + triple shots and some kind of flares action that increases the detection chance slightly of all your ships. These are rare though and generally appear on the highest difficulty.
I don't really have a problem with the randomness in some of the attacks. But it would be nice if the coloring was explained a little more technically - in particular, how different shots interact.
Looks like Kong is the best place to get a lot of useful feedback on the game. So we have started improving the game only after it was released here.
