Inertia is more of an annoyance in platforming games than anything that improves the design or gameplay.
Not being able to run up even the smallest hills unless you have some momentum, sliding down hills, continuing to move after you have released the arrow key...all of these make this game artificially tedious.
I enjoy this, but some levels don't quite make logical sense, and experimenting to find a solution that no one would come to on their own just doesn't make good gameplay.
Is it so hard to realize that no game with sound should be without a mute button?
I'm not a developer, but I can't imagine that it's hard to integrate one.
The area each cat occupies needs to be better defined.
Sometimes another cat will sit exactly on top of them, sometimes a little above, and sometimes they will overlap just a little. This makes precise placement very difficult.
I like this concept a lot, and I think you could take it a lot farther.
A puzzle mode with levels, an unlimited time mode, or a mode where blocks disappear once they get too full would all be great additions.
On the other hand, this doesn't have Kongregate's API, so it can't receive achievements anyway. I don't think developers always realize how they are selling themselves short when they don't implement that feature.
This is an incredibly clever take on the classic snake game. Many games have tried this kind of concept, but you have elevated it far beyond of them.
It's a shame that this has a higher rating that many platformers and action games here, but they still receive more recognition despite this being so much more polished and innovative.
@sqtdroopy: i'll see to that.
