This game would be a hell of a lot better if the combat system was not turn based. Let me move around and shoot things, not sit and wait till its my turn to click the button again.
The keyboard controls are terrible, there is no way to dodge any obstacles. The steering with the mouse is nearly twice as fast, but the method of killing the engine by moving the mouse down is terrible, making the last badge way too annoying. Also there is no restart button or skip fall button. If you are going to make a game thats been done so many times before, it needs to be at least as polished as the others, or better. Not worse.
I cant believe that ramming a max size whale into the bottom of a ship while using a speed boost only knocks 1 sailor off yet sends your whale half a mile into the sky.
Would be a lot more fun if a huge whale couldnt get destroyed by a single ship in 1 second. Also if the ocean supplied enough food to keep from starving. As it is now, its fun for 5 minutes and then sucks. Too bad too because it has the potential to be pretty fun.
Just finished a level perfectly on a challenge difficulty but did not get the best rank because my accuracy was 89% instead of 90. Please display what your accuracy is while you are playing so that we can avoid this instead of guessing about our accuracy.
I definitely think an option to increase the speed to different amounts would be very nice. Sometimes if you have set up a bunch of towers and you need to wait for all the enemies to walk through them, you wish you could speed up the game instead of waiting.
I think the achievement rewards are much too low. Some of them have things like 100 xp. That really doesn't make them worth getting. Maybe some special boosts, talent points, or unique weapons would do the trick.
Before, the level cap had me stuck and bored. But now I could play almost the entire second half of the game and never gain a level. It has gone from one extreme to the other. A nice balance would be to gain 1 point for the talent tree every 1 or 2 maps. That way if you are too weak to win a level, you can go back and play an old one to gain another upgrade point.
My only major complaint is that the level cap is 20. There were a lot of upgrades I still wanted to get, but after maxing out my level with half the maps still to go, it took a lot of the fun out of it.
So I found anna on the very last street in the game, with 1 hour left so it was impossible to get to the ferry because the trip took 2 hours. Now I have to do that all over again? I don't think so.
The only thing that really sucks about this game is when it ends. Being able to create and share levels would make this game absolutely incredible. Also, Part 2.
