I've noticed that the 'platformer/puzzle/collect items' kind of game is pretty standard for beginning developers. Nothing really stood out to me, and I felt that the questions at the end of each level felt somewhat out of place. I've also noticed that, with a lot of beginning games, the story is told in the description, but not shown in the game. Show that he is lonely. Show that these "star coins" are important to him. I'd recommend 'The Company of Myself' as an example for that. I will say that it DID hold my interest the whole way through, either because of the Rube Goldberg-style levels, or I was curious about the final verdict you'd give me. :P The last level was entertaining, cause I had to think some, and actually had to explore the map. And, despite my true answer being a mix between all your choices, the final verdict was nearly dead on. Kinda spooky. Not bad for a first game, but I kinda want to see what you can do after breaking out of the generic mold. Keep it up! ;)
Thank you for your views on the game, i hope my other games, as well as future games, show you that i am out of this generic mold you speak of :P ...and here i thought the generic mold was actually making tower defense games XD lol
Nice basic game. I don't know much about Unity, but the movement felt a little floaty for a tank, and on the 4th or 5th level (wasn't keeping track), I was able to drive off the map and around a wall to get outside the maze.
I'd recommend increasing the time limit on those first few levels. Maybe the later ones, too. There isn't a whole lot you can do with this idea, but it's definitely a good exercise in programming.
Did you only have words appear up to 100? Cause what you could do is have a random phrase pop up every 10 or so. It's not a bad start, but you could trim the cloud sprites more, and I think it would feel better to play if Nyan Cat responded to mouse position faster. Not instantly, but faster.. Anyway, keep making games! ^_^
Not an original idea, but a good basic game. I've always loved Towers of Hanoi. :P
It's a little elementary in terms of appearance, but for what it is, it's a pretty solid little game. Keep it up. ;)
This is just a great little game. It feels like Hack Slash Crawl, but with the flow of Realm of the Mad God, and the layout of classic Zelda. Fantastic mix. 5/5
To everyone giving 1/5 cause "it doesn't work in your browser": That's like saying Borderlands is a terrible game because you don't meet the requirement to run it. Anyway, 5/5. Very nostalgic, very good Zelda clone. It was simple and easy, yet a fun game all the way through. Thank you.
Well, I said I'd write a short story about these characters. And so I did. This story takes places between 'Fixation' and 'The Company of Myself.' Enjoy. http://eddieandrews.blogspot.com/2012/05/medication-short-story.html
@Stupu, And what makes pinpointing frames 7, 54, and 82 easy? That makes it simple, not unchallenging. The simplicity allows for the kind of difficulty where you know exactly what you need to do, but you can't just do it. It requires patience. And that's something this game has done very well.
The simplicity of the game, combined the the complexity of the MMO society that builds, makes this a fantastic game. The mix works so well that everything just... flows. MMOs are rarely ever simple, and I don't expect to find another game that pulls this off so well for a long time.
This is one of very few games I've given 5 stars to. The reason is that it employs a tactic that I haven't seen done this well more than once or twice. It's the feeling of euphoria you get when you complete a hard puzzle, or find a simpler solution than what seemed was intended (12 and 24, specifically). With a game like this, each level feels fantastic to complete, and each level make you feel great. 5/5, good sir. Keep it up.
The cyclical nature of this game is just great. You start out in The System, Mama pulls you out to track down Felix, then at the end, you walk back into The System, and it all loops back. Brilliantly made.
