Personally I think there are much better platform runners out there like Wave Rider and the popular Ninja one (by Armor I think?) I dont get the appeal of this one, I got bored after about 20 seconds on my first attempt. Guess the score speaks for itself though....
It's so rare that someone has the talent, the time, the drive and the skill to produce something like this. There are other games with a similar feel, certainly of the same genre; but still this is completely unique. It would be nice if Kongregate had a games section for 'art house' (or other synonym) games (along with the shooters, puzzles etc) because games like these are in a class of their own. Respect to you wittyhobos.
I am glad this game is on Kongregate but I don't think the star rating really applies to this game. In a way it simply transcends such a thing in that the unique experience of each person that plays it is not measurable against another.
This is more a game engine than an actual game. It's a massive tribute/copy of the old Ultima games, the gameplay, graphics and monsters are all copied faithfully. The total lack of plot or purpose is the big let down for this game. The entire game can be played using just the mouse. There are certain merchants that will sell you certain items. For the Magical Armor look for two merchants next to each other. You can rest and heal at camps so its not a bad idea to clear monsters starting from these point. The entire game (for what it is) consists of killing monsters, getting gold, buying upgrades and hoping you get the quest items dropped - sadly nothing more. The game is complete when you get 31/31 quest items and then click on 'Get Reward' ... which is surprise but not part of the game.
Genius! C5 hahaha.
I had so much fun creating pointless creatures I almost for got to click on the 5!
great stuff! a way to output/input as a txt file maybe ?
Not sure why there is so much lag, I like the concept and the graphics and the game play is not so bad either but the coding is fairly amateur, spend the 3 mins it takes and put in arrow keys, optimise your code to remove the lag, there is no reason why a game like this should be lagging on high quality and it has negative effect on the control responses!
If I am going to give $15 worth of encouragement to a game dev then there are many others higher on my list than the creator of this game. sorry. That said interesting 5 mins of game play.
I made it to about the 5th base. I had found 3 survivors (searched each base to 100%) but I only have jackhammer/shotgun and assault rifle. There seems to way to beat the incomming hoard of monsters with these tools. My grenades only last so long and the 30 or so monsters run right over the wall in a single attempt!
5/5 (again :) )
