Two bugs that are quite annoying: 1) Sometimes there will be a computer that breaks down, and no IT person will ever fix it. It may or may not have something to do with continuing a saved game. 2) Elevators that you don't want to connect with the ground will have cars that go to the ground despite the shaft not taking it there.
I've actually worked as an archaeologist. I think instead of sand, dirt, and grass for the three types of terrain, it would've made more sense to go with sand, silt, and clay. It's not hard to dig in grass. Grass is only present in the topsoil. The term "dirt" includes sand, as well as the other two types of dirt I listed, which can be combined in various ways to describe all types of weathered granular matter. For instance, loam is a combination of sand, silt, and clay. Silty loam is a combination with more silt than the other components.
I imagine some people may like it, but it's not my cup of tea. This is more of a turret defense game than a tower defense game. It's really a mix, but there's not enough automation for me. I like the more classic tower defense games, where all one has to do is plan before waves.
My main complaint is you don't get enough cash for doing stuff. It takes forever to build up enough gold to buy even the most mundane items. Having to spend the bulk of the gold you have just to go on a quest doesn't help either. I'm close to giving up just for that one reason. I feel like I'll have to play for three straight weeks before I have any significant number of recipes, and complimentary creation skill sets to do anything.
No more? It's been a year. This is my favorite flash series, other than the Protector one which doesn't make games anymore. What's the ETA on a new one?
Half the time they shoot, it appears they didn't hit you, yet you still take damage. I guess all near misses are deemed direct hits. Nice game overall, but it's nearly impossible to evade incoming fire at close range. You can't turn sharp and it miss, and since it's a two dimensional game there is no altitude changes you can make to avoid it.
I wanted to play the game, 'cause it looked really nice, but I couldn't bring myself to go around wacking beetles that weren't even attacking me. "That beetle looks docile, but let's wack it over the head just to be sure." This is the first RPG I've ever played where the enemies don't even initiate the attack.
It took me half an hour to figure out how to leave Poca Cosa, and by then I had already abandoned my donkey thinking that "leave donkey" meant that the donkey and I would finally be able to leave this twilight zone town!! Ugh! Maybe if the sheriff had been more useful in giving me direction on how to get a caravan started ... Now, I have to start over. I'll give it a rating tomorrow.
