A good strategy to use against all but the tougher bosses is: a wooden crate on each end with cannons, or piercing blocks & flame blocks on top of each wooden crate (preferably the cannons); and a single row of grabbers between the wooden crates. The reason it doesn't work against the tougher bosses is 'cause the grabbers don't work against bosses.
The digestion blocks don't do what they're supposed to do. I thought they would be good to use against the tougher bosses. I thought I could damage them, and then the digestion blocks would deal 1 point for every 2 I hit the bosses for. They didn't; not even close.
I was going to play, but the screen is too small; it hurts my eyes trying to read stuff on it. From the rating, it's obviously very well liked, though. Congrats to the developer.
For the most part it's a great game. I enjoyed Chapter 2 better, though. I regret to say I couldn't bring myself to finish this one. Once the golden wolf came along and joined the party, I was a little disheartened 'cause I figured his light magic would come in pretty handy later on, so it was necessary to jettison one of the other party members I had worked so hard on, building up their abilities. Then, that chick from the town next to the lake became a party member, and her skills clearly are a big asset. I thought hard about jettisoning another party member, and starting all over with the abilities, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. It is too tedious. The worst part about RPGs is the grinding, and you amplified that in this game two fold by keeping all the best party members off the team 'til later, and then having them all start from scratch. I really wanted to finish the game, 'cause it looked fun, but the excessive grinding just took all the fun out of it for me.
Something else that took me forever to realize is certain magic attacks can be targeted to every enemy by pressing the left arrow key. I spent 90% of this game only attacking one enemy at a time.
Yeah, it took me forever to figure that out too Serado. There's a little more to it though. Once you've mastered an ability, you still have to select it with a little green orb next to the ability, or it won't be active. That took me forever plus forever to realize. I thought as long as it was mastered, it would be active. Not so.
I only have one major complaint. You should be able to push a certain key to pass to a certain receiver, like in Madden, instead of tossing to a point on the field. It's too difficult to do it the way you have it. That is the single biggest fundamental flaw in football flash games.
This game has a fairly high rating, so most folks obviously like it, but it's incredibly boring to me. Even though you don't control the character during battles, simply seeing the battles occur would go a long way towards keeping my interest.
Ha! Nevermind, I didn't know you could hold down the mouse and have continuous fire. If you click it once over and over again, it only fires once in a blue moon. You can hold it down though and it fires forever. That's really weird.
All that time designing a potentially great game, and you just didn't finish strong. Would someone please explain to me why my weapon only fires once out of every five or six times I hit the mouse? I'm using a single shot rifle in a fight where everyone else has an assault rifle. How is that balanced and fair? I also cannot upgrade near fast enough to keep pace with the enemy. It's not even close. It would be a fun game if those things were fixed. As it is now I can't even play it.
