At first I thought the impossible was ridiculously easy. Then I played the last two bonus levels of skate and changed my mind. It's still very easy for an impossible, but those two levels did an impressive job of making me yell and curse all things rectangular.
My question is not why sushi cat insists on chasing after a stuffed animal, nor why he can consume pounds of sushi to make himself enormous only to be back to his small size for the next meal. No, my question is "Who is the mysterious person using the chopsticks to drop sushi cat into the maze of sushi?"
I actually wish there were more levels like the bonus levels. The bonus levels showed an extra creative element that was somewhat lacking in the standard ones. The puzzles could be made much more complex, challenging, and entertaining if you took the elements of gravity shifting and falling through the ceiling into new level sets. The standard level set was good, the bonus levels showed the potential to be great.
After 1 year I discovered he was a criminal. It's okay though cuz I later found out he's family man criminal... Then, after 3 years, I finally discovered he was attractive
This is semi-interesting as an exploratory click-fest but fails as a game. This is essentially asking you to build up a recipe book but doesn't allow you to find out what any of these recipes taste like, just keeps adding ingredients. Sorry, but I prefer games with an iota of action in them or are at least conceptually stimulating. This is a supremely boring "game" where you mindlessly click until something "happens" (you get a new icon to mindlessly click).
Refreshingly original, a breath of fresh air on the flash game scene. Unfortunately the game mechanics need some work. The scares and spooks themselves are well done but the dynamic by which they interact with people is sketchy at best. There are instances where shuffling a painting on the other side of the room scares them more than the flying bathtub monster in their face. Nonetheless it's a clever, original game with oodles of charm. A great one to hit the ranks right before halloween.
Manages to stand out as something special in an overly saturated genre. The artwork is a lovely example of top-notch illustration, particularly through the shifts. My favorite aspect though, would have to be the music. A superb soundtrack keeps the mood appropriately somber/morose with haunting overtones and then into a tense, suspenseful end sequence. Great stuff
@zandor101: hint: he's in the bottom half, they are all there in every level; trust me. Not a bad game, needs something extra to make it pop (upgrades, achievements, different characters, a story, something like that). As mentioned, you can't use an existing game's music without rights. Good idea, needs some work.
Really cool take on the Bust-a-Move style game. I don't understand why you would pixelate the graphics though. This game could be something special in it's own right, don't force it into a style-genre like a "pixel game" when it can be it's own thing. Better graphics could allow for the blobs to feel more liquidy and viscous, it would also make aiming more precise. The physics mechanics are unique, I think when a blob bounces off a chain (when it hits a different color) it should still be able to connect to the other chain, allowing you to "bounce" blobs off chains (not just walls) to reach difficult spots. A huge issue is that at the 3rd level you can move the spot you shoot from, this is great except that the mouse controls the shot AND location so you can only shoot straight up which completely destroys your ability to aim, bounce, or use tactics at all. Change the mechanics to allow you to shoot and aim seperately. Great idea, just needs some extra thought.
I have four shapes and a watermelon but can't get further than that. In any case, I like the 3D work you've put in (I work in 3D myself) but there are a couple technical issues. For instance, when you zoom in on the jacket/shirt on the rack you need to change the 3Dcamera settings to adjust clipping since some polygons get clipped off. Also, why can't I put any of the shapes into their respective slots?
An enemy you say?! Why let me just point my sword up at the sky, now towards my foe, now aim it behind myself, now back at the sky, now back at my foe, then start the swing... hmm, he's gone you say?
not bad for a first attempt, couple suggestions for future games: You need a warning sign that the shield is about to disappear, put one of the more interesting levels at the beginning (you want to capture the gamer's attention immediately, we on Kong are all ADD ;). You have some clever ideas, find a way to utilize them in a format that isn't so unoriginal. You could consider customizable appearance or weapon upgrades to enhance the experience as well.
It's an enjoyable little game, embraces casual gameplay. Unfortunately the entirety of the game only lasts about an hour or so and there's little incentive to continue playing after the missions are complete. But this is solid gunplay while it lasts, the puzzles are moderately clever, and it has a quirky humor to it. 4/5
The original Protector is what first drew me to Kongregate. The blend of strategy, tower defense, story, and style is something special and unique. Protector IV brings in so many great ideas it's almost overwhelming at first, but each aspect works really well together to bring a new and exciting style of gameplay. Each piece of the greater whole has been fine-tuned to build a cohesive game. The factions and various unit types, hero setup, marketing, and even the clever bits like "snakes on a plain" and the unit names make for a truly great game experience, well done!
not too bad until you get to the computer portion, there is no way to know what to type. I'd like to see the rest of the game but it's impossible to pass this part unless you know exactly what you're looking for. kind of an interesting take on the "avoider" style game though
This is one bad gaming experience. my screen just froze for the 6th time (I've played two races) and won't reach any menu so I have to go back, the loading time is atrocious, and the worst part of all is that it isn't even a fun game! my only controls are the arrow keys?! I played almost the exact same game back in 1992, let's try to create something new and exciting please.
