I love these turn based strategies - and this one goes above and beyond!!! So dynamic!
Survival is a great game, and I keep coming back to it. I'm REALLY looking forward to a Steambirds 2! (hint hint)
I would like to suggest being able to control more planes in survival as well.

Why does everyone think the red and blues are falling off to their deaths? I personally think they're heading off to a hockey game - green just doesn't like hockey...
A few suggestions-
+Change the color of the ship on the radar - it blends with the lava and you can't see where you are.
+Have a larger map you can open with a cloud of war type function, so that you can see where you have been and get the overall picture w/o showing what you don't know yet.
+Give access to your inventory on the Galaxy page when you are choosing which planet to mine
