A browser game classic. 4/5 (would've rated it 5/5 when it was released :P)
This game isn't stolen! It is published by stateofplay games which is owned by Luke Whittaker. Luke Whittaker wrote the program. Presumably he licenses it to miniclip and kongregate (and candystand too, I think.)
I took my balloons and went to the zoo.
The balloons flew away and the monkeys threw poo.
I told the zookeeper, 'I can't believe this is true!
This ain't what the ones on my computer do!"
The zookeeper laughed and said with a nod,
'Man, if they did, that would really be odd!'
So remember, my friends, as you go on with the game --
There's balloons and Bloons... and they aren't quite the same. :D
About Newspaper Delivery: the price differential between Newspaper Delivery and the other investments is nuts. It's not that Newspaper Delivery costs more than the other investments which is so maddening... It's that the overall price spirals upward much, much faster than any improvement in income generation. The result is that game gets bogged down at about 400 of each business -- so much so that even though I now have more Angel Investors than the population of Earth, I'm still nowhere even remotely near getting 500 of each business. I suggest lowering the exponential factor from 1.15 to 1.10 or maybe 1.125. If this was done, I believe Newspaper Delivery would still far outstrip the cost of any other business, yet be a lot more balanced for continued play-ability.
You get angel investors by making money. It's automatic, though I don't think you get any until you've made billions or trillions. Then, when you make money and those investors accrue, you activate them by resetting your stats and restarting the game. In the next round they will provide dividends on the money you make. This is true of every round: get investors, reset, new investors are added to the old investor pool, restart. When you restart your investor pool will increase your profit. Remember, you won't lose anything by reset/restart... but you will have to re-purchase everything. Think of it as starting a new hedge fund. ;) Hope this helps.
You get AI (Angel Investors) by making money off of your investments. The more money you make, the more AI you get. But AI do not become active until you restart. Don't worry about losing investors: they will come with you when you restart. (Think of it as opening a new hedge fund, with the investors following your lead.)
My current AI population is >North America, but <Asia. My goal is to get more than the population of Earth. :D
Note: the new investors you get from your current round of adventure capitalism don't affect this round. They will only have an effect after you restart. Don't worry about losing investors when you restart, either: they will come back so you'll get: your old investors+the new ones=more $$$!!!
Example: I have 100 mil investors active + 100 mil investors waiting to invest. When I restart, both groups will become active investors, and any new investors thereafter will be inactive until another restart. + if this helped.
This is a fun game! I give it a solid 4/5. But if it wasn't for the heads up from another commentator, I would have quit playing before completing the game. Staying to finish the game when I really wanted to leave it was sort of a drag, you know? If the game saves automatically, please mention it somewhere. Otherwise, please add a save feature.
I don't get the comments about investors. They seem to be accruing at about the same rate as they did before -- to be honest, they seem slower to me now. I restarted with 10K+ investors, and since then have bought over 1100 businesses, generated well over a quadrillion bucks profit, and have only gotten 4 new investors.
Brilliant. Change one variable (time), and it's a completely different game! Also enjoyed the music. It's pleasant without being intrusive. Perfect for puzzling!
