Despite the obvious small flaws (pointed out by all the previous comments) and some language errors, this game is a lot of fun. Grinders can get maxed too quickly though. :) 5/5
There is very little motivation to complete the missions the game being beatable with 0 of them completed and given their sluggish progress, low payoff and silly order. Other than that, and not minding a bit of grind, the game is enjoyable. The boss is a bit on the difficult side with a stage of some unfair attack pairings (napalm grenade+flame cannon) but is beatable with maxed perks and a few homing rocketeers). nice to see the car finally makes sense. 4/5
The amount of bugs in this game equals that of enemies. Not sure why the dev never took the time to debug this otherwise promising game, nor do I know why Kong gave badges to this bugfest. 2 stars for the effort, the rest should be in beta.
Great game, I'm enjoying it so far... but it does need tweaking. Enemies are in some situations overpowered. Initial computer reaction is way too OP. The planet shield mechanism makes the first few seconds of the game decisive. These are elents in need of being revisited. 3.7/5
Can't agree with the race that gets reinforcements after loosing the last planet. They just received thousands of new resources and took all (!!!) my planets without me being able to click. They shifted balance from 90-10 to the reverse. Not fair.
How ridiculously awesome was this? I couldn't have wished for a nicer friday office hour :) I am now hungry for more.
One single observation: the text speed with space held is not much faster than without it. Maybe you could implement that text bubbles instantly reveal text on a second space tap... sometimes it took long to re-read the conversations. This will be 5/5.
I really was going to do this, but I gave up after a point because of how I'd coded the text system... (Like I said, I made a bit of a mess, lol.) I'll take another look at it. That's the way it SHOULD be, really. EDIT: I was able to do this! It was easier than I though, I must have just needed a fresh perspective. ^^ I'll upload it a little later.
The upgrades are a tad too expensive. I fail to hit any of the upper platforms. Once you speed up, one mistake knocks you off the pattern and you fly/fall. The speed picks up and stays steady quickly, not much variation. Ultimately, the game plays on the bottom row. I’d implement something that motivated players to go up. The UFO is unfair, the best thing you can do is ignore it, and run as much as you can to replenish. To me the boost is more a punishment than a bonus. It de-syncs you from your jumping and you'll use up fuel to land properly. Sometimes I hit the falling spike and fall uncontrollably, or jump through it and sometimes it knocks me off my platform but I can hover back.
The positives are the seamless and nice graphics and the absolutely great music. To me this runner feels a bit too sluggish and repetitive, especially with these prices. It's OK to grind a bit but with mostly bottom row and only 4 variations (UFO, platform fall, boost and stalactite) it grows old quickly.
I couldn't test the upgrades yet, so i can't tell how effective they are. Two remarks at the very beginning though... one: the UFO is a bit unfair at the beginning, you can avoid it only if you use more fuel than what it steals, and two: if you fall into the abyss but boost up you don't hit the rocks but just travel through and can hower back into the screen, yet hit by the stalactite you lose a life. I'll go on practicing in the office. :)
Update to my earlier comment: there seems to be a tenfold error to the experience awarded in battle, the mana pool, number of units, everything. Some numbers go randomly berserk. I am stuck with 9 experience after a won battle with next upgrade costing thousands. This game is just not worth that grind.
After purchasing my first upgrade my experience points were all nilled even though I had more than the required amount. This must be a bug. I proceeded to replay a stage to grind a bit and received 1 experience point after having completed a previously done stage. Is this intentional? Looks like a bug. Enemy keeps spamming archers behind the castle wall line and my archers can1t shoot them, only hurt the castle HP. This is a perfect archery defense. Must be a bug.
Feels very unpolished. Halfway around the game you are already invincible, with nobody offering you enough resistance. Just do the hunting missions first.
