It's a shame that all these towers are not really that useful ; you can make your way through the whole game with only lightning and saw guns. Like many TD games, it has the flaw of having a strategy that boils down to low damage AOE gun + high damage single target gun.
"Giant" city size in impossible mode is completely unplayable. I won't even say it's hard, because when you have 700 surrounding zombies on day 15 giving 90% threat even with everyone on duty you know that you can't win. Did I mention that I started with 5 survivors with all their stats at 10 using the helicopter from a previous city? It seems that the spawn rate of zombies in this mode is compleyely off the charts. If someone manages to win in that mode he can PM me so I may welcome him as a physical God.
The squirrel moves so slowly, it feels like it is swimming in gelatin. Never thought that one of the world's most agile animals imbued with flying powers would be stiff as a brick :)
If you're having trouble with the spearmen, it's perhaps also because you've had very bad luck and never had the opportunity to increase their defense above 1, and they get murdered before you can push anything. And of course you can't win any battle with them so you can't level them up anymore. So frustrating -_-
I finally beat the final mission in Iron mode. Since I struggled so much with it, here's a few tips. The trick is to slow down the waves of demons by using entangle, so that the dark knights arrive to your magic towers before the demons. Use at least 2 fully upgraded entanglers on the top left path to do that, and put lots of magic towers with golem on the right path. No barracks. That did the trick for me ;)
After playing the first game, I was wondering why a cutesy-looking visual novel about a romance between a girl and a guy with harmless phobias was called "Nowhere safe". I just finished this one and now I understand...
This game isn't a ripoff of Kingdom Rush ; having allotted spots for your towers is a standard feature of TD games in general. If you want to say that this game is a spinoff of something, try Avatar the Last Airbender. At least it would make sense :)
The problem I have with this game is that only 3 towers are good (Charmer of Stones, Reflector and Fire Guard), and the rest of the towers are just pale copies of these three. Energy tower? Just a watered down version of Fire Guard. Water towers? Sure, they can slow or freeze, but reflectors *move enemies backwards*, which is way better! Watchtower? It's just a joke compared to Charmer of Stones because 3 stones = 3 times the damage. Hell Lighthouse is not that bad but you don't really need it since Powerful Fire Guard has a great AOE effect in addition to its normal effect. So there are effectively only 3 towers in the game as far as I'm concerned ;)
Foe people struggling with the deity mode: it is possible, I just beat it on deity on turn 86. The trick is the following. First, scrap religion completely, it's a waste of research points and workers. Food and population growth is your first priority : use gathering in the first age, hunting in the second, and either hunting or fishing (if you can afford it, it's better) in the third. Production is your second priority as soon as you have high pop growth. Don't get the strength techs, you can't afford them and you can do without. And most important advice : keep threat level at 15-30% all the time ; sure it's high but you need all the pop growth you can get. And you can weasel out of most invasions :)
Thanks, we'll look into it.
