To add on to what others are saying, if you buy out the competition and unlock your next business, your new business won't have a "buy" button in the 2D view (AdCap view) until you refresh the page to restart the game.
5. Shield knight should also be cheaper. (Maybe 250 gold?) Since it does very low damage with super slow attack speed, but costs 500 gold, it basically just walks off to die while leaving you with no money for attackers. It's also not very good at shielding. I tried using a shield knight + spearman, but the spearman would always walk in front of the shield knight after killing something while the shield knight was busy standing in place with its shield up. If you have 500 gold, it's almost always better to buy multiple attack units instead. 6. It would be cool if there was an option to play as the enemy, either as a separate campaign or as a bonus for beating the game. Their units are different enough that it could be fun. 7. Speed up button.
1. There should be keyboard shortcuts for summoning units. The way the boxes are labeled 1-9 makes it feel like they were supposed to be there but don't work. 2. There should be a better explanation of attack and armor. My shield knight has +65 armor. Does that mean it's invincible since everything has low attack? I guess not since it was killed by a bunch of enemies. Is armor like HP? If not, how much HP do units have? 3. Option to have health bars above units in battle. This would help a lot for learning how effective units are. 4. Tower defense archers are awful and too expensive. They should maybe be about 300 gold. They start off by shooting in front of the door while the enemy is far away, and then slowly shoot farther away as the enemy gets closer. The enemies usually make it to the door without getting hurt by them.
I liked it! I think it would be cool if there were different endings depending on how quickly you beat it. I played through the game a second time and managed to beat it on the third day, but I was sad to see the town's death count jumped up to 19 and the town was empty. :(
The "Adapt" skill (Nerd - BHacker - Guy Fawkes) should have some kind of limit. With 200k points, I got about 10k click power. I then saved up about 2 million points and got ~120k click power. You can keep using it over and over for massive boosts until your points roll over into the negatives.
I think the Comeback Kid achievement causes the victory screen to freeze, or at least is one of the reasons that it will freeze. The only time my victory screen locks up is when I lose more than 2x my max HP in a fight.
As others have said, definitely needs a speed up button. Completing defensive victories takes forever! Also bug: Fortress and Towers can always be repaired, even if you have 0 or negative gold.
Instead of saying "Wave 2", the box should say something like "Wave 2/4". It doesn't help to know I'm on wave 2 when that might be the last wave or there could be 2 more waves.
most of the stages have 3 waves. a few early stages have 2 and i think one or 2 stages have 4 waves. I did not add the max count to add a bit of surprize or wtf moment when you thought you've already won, and confident, but still have another round to go. sorry if it was a dickish move XD
Bugs: 1) If you time travel but would gain 0 mastery points, the game acts like you don't have any mastery points. The game will count all of your mastery points again if you gain at least 1 mastery point when time traveling. 2) The item that doubles your mastery points gained seems to be permanent. If this is intentional, the item should always be marked as bought and the game shouldn't let you buy more on subsequent time travels. 3) The +1000 damage from Infused Sword is compounded when you upgrade click damage. This makes the sword much more powerful if bought early. (Damage increases by 10% with each upgrade, so damage will go from 1000, 1100, 1211, 1332 instead of 1, 2, 3, 4 if bought before upgrading damage.) This might be more of a balance issue than a bug.
@Rulltrappskram - The game uses scientific notation. Scientific notation can be used with SI units, imperial units, or any kind of other unit. An SI Prefix refers to the words like kilo, mega, or giga that come before the unit (prefixes!) that are used in the metric system. The game does not use SI prefixes.
It's been over 5 years now, but Vox Populi Vox Dei: Episode 2 IS still being worked on! http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=126513786
I made a spreadsheet with information about countries: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1OSMt8PobWx5jDERRCaxehoT30pNxpDov0nOD7Lq2HC4/ I'm guessing a lot of this is going to change once the big update happens. There are 24 countries. Every country from Cuoowana to Ohea (2-13) is pretty bad for gold, taking more than 24 hours just to pay themselves off with 2 million Dark Knights. Ija and Omana are the worst, taking almost 3 days before you start profiting off them. I'd say it's not really worth it to conquer a country unless you can take Edryia (pays itself off in about 10 hours) or better. The countries keep getting better after that, with Grey Isles making up its own cost in about 3 hours and 30 minutes (It's worth that long battle time!).
The gains go up based on total dark knights. It's total dark knights / 11500000d to get the new multiplier, then all the base values of the countries are multiplied by that multiplier. ~Taiga
Okay! I was wrong before, but I figured out the real problem with Recruit Speed. It's the white number at the bottom of a recruit's box that becomes wrong. The phoenix's bar takes 2 seconds to fill up without speed upgrades. In the phoenix box, it might say something like 25 quintillion/s in blue and 50 quintillion in white, meaning it makes 50 quintillion with a full bar every 2 seconds. If you double the speed, the numbers change to 50 quintillion/s and 100 quintillion. The white number shouldn't have changed to 100 quintillion. It should say 50 quintillion/s because the speed doubled to a full bar every 1 second (that part's correct!) and 50 quintillion at the bottom of the box because it's still making 50 quintillion for every full bar. The white number shouldn't change with speed upgrades.
Wait... you're right, and also you're the only one who noticed haha :) I'll see if I can still fix this. This feature was actually written up about two days before I published the game. I guess I just missed it when I was testing it :P
Revenue text doesn't take the Recruit Speed upgrade into account. If a recruit is making $100 per second without upgrades, and then recruit speed is upgraded to 1100%, the text will still say $100/s even though the bar is filling up much more quickly.
I think that that's what's supposed to happen, because the speed increases, but the total revenue should stay the same. If you look at the revenue/s, it should update accordingly.
Early heroes should have some kind of use in late game. Treebeast and Brittany don't contribute anything when you have Aphrodite and Shinatobe, but it would be nice if they had some kind of use. Suggestion: Possibly add a second set of "late game upgrades" for every hero (like a special upgrade for having a level 1,000 Treebeast), or an upgrade that gives a global DPS boost for having more heroes (such as +1% global DPS for every 100 Treebeasts).
I think it would look/feel better if the number units changed with every factor of one thousand instead of what it's doing now. (The upgrades should say "1.335 B" gold instead of "1,335 M", and the damage should be "3.142 B" instead of "3,442 M".) It just seems a little weird to think of Bill Gates having 76,000 million dollars instead of 76 billion dollars!
Black screen? (Posting this again) The problem is caused by the game being unable to load news from togeproductions.com, the developer's website, due to some sort of widespread block by Bluemile, the server hosts for that website. The problem could easily be fixed by the developers if the game didn't fail when it checked for the news. See this thread for more information: kongregate.com/forums/7-technical-support/topics/291665
Black screen? If you're getting one, it's most likely because the game fails when it is unable to connect to the developer's website. A large amount of people seem to be unable to connect to that website, although there is nothing we can do to fix this. See this thread for more information: http://www.kongregate.com/forums/7-technical-support/topics/291665-relic-of-war-90-of-players-get-blank-screen
Thanks will cap this later today.
