You know, there's a lot to like here--it's atmospheric, it's moody, the music sets the tone nicely, and there's clearly a story being told. The biggest problem, unfortunately, is that while it's heavily text-based, the English translation is full of grammatical errors. I don't mind imperfect English when it's in occasional dialogue, but when the game is all about the text, it gets a little overwhelming. Can I suggest finding a native English speaker as a proofreader?
You're absolutely right!
Unfortunately, although we'd like to do so, we couldn't find a native English speaker (or at least someone more skilled than us) avaible until now.
We really hope, in the future, to find more people wanting to help us, to improve our work.
Anyway, thank you VERY MUCH for all your words: it's our first game, but we'll do anything to improve ourself and make any coming game even better!
This game was vaguely interesting, until I loaded it and, while clicking on "skip", accidentally double-clicked and thus clicked on "new game". Which reset my progress with no warning. Feh.
It's really kind of ridiculous that (a) this game has a bug that makes it unplayable, and (b) the developer has disabled bug reporting, so we can't even tell him about it. And the game needs...something. More. It's really, really repetitive; it feels like the man who wrote the definitive achievement parody with "Achievement Unlocked" is now just writing cheap games where there's nothing to do but try to get the achievements.
Hey, is there a non-sexist version, in which the guy does something incredibly stupid like opening a book, and as a result *he* gets kidnapped and *she* gets to be cool and save him, instead of the other way around?
In the first two games I played, one of them had some dubious choices ("sandwich" is fast food, but "cookies" aren't), and the other had a misspelled category word ("fourty"). For a word game, that's not inspiring.
The pictures are beautiful, certainly, and the premise is good. But I literally had to close my eyes every time I was about to finish a picture, because the static effect was so painful and jarring. Remove that, and you might have the relaxing, meditative game you seem to otherwise want.
The problem with the bestiary is that it lists things by name, but there's no way to see the names of the things you're fighting. Either the bestiary needs pictures in its index, or you need to be able to see the name of the thing you're fighting (by hovering over it, by clicking it, etc.).
It looks like these zombies have created complex, even multi-level structures, and we're just plowing through them mindlessly. So who, I ask you, are the real monsters here?
...probably the zombies, really, because they're zombies. But *still*.
I thought I'd enjoy this, and I did for a few levels, but it just became too irritating to try to get the exact right angle to bounce a laser in the right direction. "Levels 20-40 are waiting for you" is small comfort if getting to those levels is an exercise in frustration.
This isn't just fun (and cute), it's really well-designed. Not only does each Viktor's victory help you get further, but it's carefully planned so that doing so actually blocks the slow, already-traveled path to keep the player from going back over things they've already finished. It's an amazing attention to detail, and I really look forward to more games from y'all. (A sequel? Viktor the (N+1)th?)
It's just so...so beautiful. Because it's so *true*! Life is all about trying new things and meeting new people and then the dramatic and unexpected twists we suddenly face. Moving slowly to our own inner music. Very slowly. And deeply.
Sometime around level 15 or so, I got *really* tired of the "Level Failed" screen. It pops up in a really obtrusive way, and for the love of god I KNOW THE RULES already, you don't have to tell me not to touch another bubble while growing.
