THE UPPER LEFT CORNER OF MULTITASK TOOK TWO BLASTERS, TWO MORTARS, AND FIIIIIIIVE DRONE RUNS ALL AT ONCE TO DISABLE FOR *JUST* LONG ENOUGH TO CAP. DEAR GOD I HATE WHOEVER MADE THAT LEVEL RIGHT NOW.
Alright so I just actually *finished* the game. The levels were great. Not overly challenging, but not hand-holdingly easy either. Also they don't feel more like timing puzzles than platformer puzzles, which is good since a lot of platforming games lately feel more like they're about having to do something at this EXACT MOMENT than having to be good at platforming. My biggest complaint (besides making Z the jump button and just generally not being able to configure the controls) is that the boss fight was SUPER easy.
The gods of random number generation has NOT smiled upon this game. Seriously I have a guy that misses EVERY attack he makes, but has an 80% hit chance on average.
My biggest issue is that there's really no reason to do the special attacks besides wanting to do flashy cool tricks. Just clicking for normal attacks puts out a LOT more damage in less time, especially since I CAN upgrade those quickly and cheaply, but not the special attacks until later and with some definite XP grinding. Typically, the more complex or difficult to do action should be the more rewarding one in a game. Yes, the click+drag to slash thing is a very cool mechanic, but it doesn't work anywhere near as well when there's an easier, more conventional way to attack available for the whole game. Especially since the Oni's, who are the toughest opponents by far besides the final boss, don't seem to take any damage whatsoever from special attacks. And honestly since Armor Games does upgrade and build option removal all the time, I've got no complaints there. Would definitely play again some time when I need to kill a few minutes, but not the greatest game I've ever seen.
I like how Greenland keeps EVERYTHING open when the entire rest of the world is dying of every lethal disease symptom ever. Their president is like the polar opposite of the president of Madagascar.
Is there ANYTHING I can do in "A Man In the Wilderness (Anna died...)" to not die? It's kind of annoying. I tried both basic paths, and I *think* every option on each path at every branch, and it makes absolutely no difference. Every possible option eventually leads to death unless I missed something.
Thanks :)
