yeah, I'm not even sure this could be called a sandbox.
I know what you were thinking when you put it up though, so I'm not rating this.
Why ruin your rep before you even start making games, right?
It does seem like the heat reduction is working in reverse though.
I spent a few waves just increasing my inhibitor and reactor and found I wasn't able to fire as fast before overheating.
It might be adding that number to the heat instead of removing it.
And yeah, I don't know how to code flash games yet, but it's the only thing I can suggest.
Otherwise a cool game. Have to give it a decent score despite some problems.
More or less agree with daleata. Asteroids get bigger and more numerous faster than your weapon can keep up.
Lots of good suggestions here to make this a good game.
Upgrade store, making the resources fall to Earth... different size 'roids moving at different speeds...
And smaller waves each level. 100 of them on the first go is a bit much.
since Filler is a clone of an old game called Qix, I really don't see where the issue is.
This game is different enough to make it a decent game, both in some of the simpler physics, and in graphics.
This game is much more visually dynamic than Filler ever thought of being.
And this game is slightly more difficult. Even when I try to die in Filler, I pass levels... this game can kill me.
None of the 'powerups' are benefiial.. even the bigger one is more a pain than anything. The water effect only makes the nominite sluggish... and even at normal speeds, the balls are faster than you are.
Plus, I wrote this entire review with the game running and I didn't lose.... Not sure everything's in place yet.
Just a thought, but I think yaykitties is saying that s/he liked all the parts of the game, but put together, it lost something.
I haven't played it yet... so don't quote me on that yet.
Was going to rate this game really high until I got to level 44.
After two hours with a pencil and paper plotting out every possible combination of moves that can be made, I concluded beyond any doubt that it is not possible.
My enjoyment of the game, and thereby my rating, plummeted fast.
Meh... Once you get used to not aiming and just rapid clicking on everthing... it's a little boring.
By the way people, those aren't candles... they're bombs...
Sometimes reading is a good thing. It was explained in the instructions, slow as they might be.
Seeing as there really is no way to actually avoid the asteroids.... cause this thing handles like the turd someone else mentioned.... After a minute or so I was deliberately flying into them just to get it over with.
Maybe you should take this down until you get some actual game play in there.
Then this might be a decent game.
The boulder escape is maddeningly frustrating. No clue about what to do, and once you figure it out, you're still at the mercy of any sudden movements of the game screen.
Not fun.
While I think the idea of this game is great, I echo everything Arcanus says.
You have to throw massive numbers of flowers at every tar to have a chance of stopping it because they do too little damage.
Then you find yourself without any left to throw when the next 4 or 6 come on screen.
And the boss is ridiculous. It's hard enough to beat without there being a time limit as well.
And don't say there isn't one 'cause I was winning against it my last try when it just decided that I was done and walked up to my water and killed me.
game automatically submits my score, then has to reload itself. Points off for slowness.
Also, maybe this could be more of an accuracy thing than a time thing.
I didn't even know I had a time limit until I'd run out of time twice. Detail that in the instructions.
Very hard AI. Anyone that can draw on this thing regularly is very good at this game.
Very good adaptation of the game though, and the music is perfect.
I can't beat it, but I have to give you 5/5 anyhow.
