I like how the game has a mechanism in place for me to stop playing it and do something else. The problem is that it thinks I'm going to come back and keep playing it later.
The easy badge is literally "click the mouse 14,000 times". That's not a game. That's something a psycho would make you do for them to release your kidnapped family.
I've been playing video games for about 30 years. Admittedly it's been pretty casual, so I haven't played them all. But this is honestly probably the worst game I've ever played. Did someone forget that "fun" was a part of the equation?
This game was just badged a couple days ago and now it's the badge of the day. Hopefully NinjaKiwi realizes this is like when an item goes to the bargain bin immediately and does better next time.
The medium badge would take about half an hour to get if it wasn't for the stupid energy system. Instead it takes multiple days. This is everything wrong with Kongregate.
The dev responded to my previous comment saying that it was "baffling" that the game is tedious and overly grindy. Meanwhile the game has a 3.5 rating with a bunch of people agreeing with me. If you can't take constructive criticism, by all means, keep pumping out your mediocre games.
What was baffling is the fact that pre badges the biggest criticism that the game got was that it was too short and easy. Post badges the biggest criticism was that it was grindy and long. That's what was baffling to me. The fact that the pre and post badges complaints completely contradicted themselves.
Other than lives, I found that you could upgrade something 10 times and not have it be obvious at all what you upgraded. The true hallmark of an overly grindy game.
Your weapons evolve every 5 levels and change their look. Levels inbetween increase damage by 20%. This recent wave of "grindy" comments is flat out baffling. Before this game got badged there were ZERO comments about a grind. In fact, the exact opposite. "Too easy" "too short" was what I got the most. Seriously, take a look at the older comments. You use the phrase "overly grindy" as if the game takes hundreds of hours to complete.
So I'm level 72 on Kongregate at this point, which doesn't mean much other than the fact that I've played a lot of the games and overall enjoy them enough to continue.
But this whole series.. rename it "Left click 2 thousand times and then something happens". I dread every time this stupid game in its dozens of iterations comes up. Jesus, please let this be the last one.
