Renegade0816 / ympb: New cards have been made for a while. They've finally started programming them recently. My current somewhat optimistic estimate is for new cards to see a public release in mid November.
Kark: Bah, my response was eaten - but to sum up what I was trying to say, counter-picks aren't everything. A few matchups are heavily lopsides (VV vs MLM, MLM vs Cain) but that's part of the reason you have 3-card decks. Most top players don't adjust their deck choices based on who they are playing (and if that were that important, I would be awful since I never do that.)
Skouge: You're trying to save the deck twice in a row almost definitely. You can't use the same name as any deck YOU already have - other people aren't considered at all.
ye4400: Nice numbers, but they are backwards! A simple look at the top players list and a brief review of how the rank point system works should be enough to convince anyone that skill is predominant.
SirDorius: Yea, as I said, the RNG is fine. I've done numerous tests on a variety of aspects of Kongai, and the RNG consistently performs as expected. For example, testing how dodge works (we found out that it's subtractive, not multiplicative) by using Slingshot against another PopoFeather resulted in a 51% dodge rate, a 37% miss rate, and a 12% crit rate over 268 trials (expected 50/40/10) - well within the bounds of expected deviance.
siah_jer: Critical Hits do not work that way. Read #4 -> http://kongregate.wikia.com/wiki/Kongai_FAQ || The odds of critting 3 times in a row is indeed 12.5% - not at all that amazing or noteworthy.
The RNG is fine - and I say that when I've been on the bad end of a 1 in 5500 bead before. Humans are just bad at perceiving what random actually looks like, and are also more likely to remember strings of oddities than the dozens of games that were normal.
The 2nd Kongai League will be starting fairly soon, and is still open for signups. Anyone of Skill Rank 25 or greater is eligible to join - http://www.kongregate.com/forums/1/topics/53844
Wow, disco has been busy! Guess I'm sorry I wasted time explaining exactly why the game wasn't all luck and giving concrete examples of how it would be impossible for it to be mostly luck when he was blabbing the same nonsense in chat last night. Also, lol @ "If Kongai is skill then why do i never improve? Bacause it's based on luck, not skill" and "You can't expect me to believe this is a genuine skilful game when i've lost about 50 matches where opponents got lucky." -- I've never seen such a perfect example of self-delusion before. I'll say it once more: If you want to get better at the game, your first step is to admit your losing because you are awful at the game and stop blaming luck. It boggles my mind how you can recognize that Poker is a game of skill while denying that Kongai is as well.
Eliittihemuli: Haha what. Have you checked the top 100? There's a ton of good players out there; you just need to be good enough yourself to get your skill rank high enough to face them :P
Bevriezing: lolwhut. Skill Rank 20 is a *cake walk*. A halfway decent player could make it with a deck consisting of an ItemLess Helene, Phoebe, and Andromeda - or far easier, just run a Random All deck. A good players could easily make SR30 with the same. The game has some balance issues, but it's quite well balanced for the most part, and while the impact of good cards isn't insignificant it's certainly not game breaking either.
sarahshelly31: The GAME has not been hacked as far as anyone knows - only the SCORES have been hacked, on a regular basis, across all games on Kongregate. Generally as soon as one person is deleted from the high score lists for hacking it, another takes their place :P
781019025203: Phy is 30% because any higher and it'd cause 'Phyhax' (long streaks of repeated procs) too often,a nd any lower it'd be even more awful than it currently is. Compare to Sharpening Stone, which is a much better item, because it affects you ever time you attack - not just when you die. In generaly, Phy is worthless 70% of the time, good 21% of time time, and amazing 9% of the time; overall it's not very good, but it can (very rarely) cause major luck swings.
