If the last 15 levels didn't seem exactly like the preceeding 15 levels, it might be more fun. As it is, it was quite dull once you could afford the big weapons, etc. I died once, on the last boss, because I screwed up and walked into the giant laser. On the whole, it was an alright game, but a bit easy and kinda dull.
Well, I'm very happy with what I find now: Continuing no longer resets my ammo and money? The massive lag is mostly gone? Hard mode is actually do-able? Well done, LongAnimals. Nice Recovery. :P
There's a misprint in the Protectopedia: Under the listing for "Destructor" it makes a reference to inflictors being the equivalent of a unit that generalized fully.
Well, that's quite the bug... I've just finished getting all the gold medals, and now, whenever I restart a level to try to improve my time, the line doesn't appear, so I can't actually do anything. I have to wait until the time runs. Any thoughts?
I'm really enjoying this game thus far... I just got to level 60, thought "Woo! beat it!" only to unlock more levels. :P Reminds me of the marble puzzles that it's based off. On the whole, nicely done!
Hmm... Haven't started the game yet, but not through lack of effort. I've hit 3-4 flash errors where the game has refused to load, and once it led to a "fatal error" and crashed my browser. I'm still trying, but this seems odd.
I'm having a lot of fun with this game, despite being thoroughly stuck on 19. :P
My one suggestion would be to maybe have the level automatically restart when you run out of orbs and haven't won?
It seems kind of pointless to have to press re-start when you don't really have another option in the first place.
Other than that though, great job with this game, and good luck with future projects!
Found another bug: When I entered the area in which you fight the last boss of the Steamcity Ruins, I was able to walk all the way to the exit before the boss spawned. Then, auto pilot turned on to walk me back through the boss to in front of it.
There's an odd bug happening to me right now... Nothing loads until I do something to the page. For example, I'll be stuck at the loading screen for a new area for a long time, but pausing and unpausing instantly fixes it. In the item menu, the items don't load until I change the page. And so on. It's very odd and debilitating...
I love this game, And was incredibly happy to see it get badges way back when. Of course, the impossible badge has been tormenting me for ages. Anyway, today, I made it to the 10th level untouched and seemed to be hit by an attack while using the laser. I noticed that sometimes ships don't die when you shoot them, so is it possible a shot didn't die in the laser? Anyway, this was incredibly frustrating and I just thought I'd note it for future reference.
As an addition to my previous comment, I found this to be far more significant than the other issues: In the past halfhour, maybe that I've been playing this game, it has frozen and crashed my web browser 4 times. This hasn't happened with any other game ever, so I doubt it's a system problem. Not only is it incredibly frustrating, but it means that every time it happens, I have to restart. As a side note, I'd like to see a mute button on the main screen, or at least somewhere other than only in a battle.
As many people have said, any of the attacks more complicated than "push x/z" are really hard to pull off consistantly, when you want them. watching your character stand there doing nothing while your enemy repeatedly hits you with their power-moves at high speed is quite frustrating. Maybe there's a trick to it I haven't found yet, but so far it hasn't been very enjoyable to play.
While few of the puzzles were really incredibly difficult, the game was highly enjoyable and fun to play through. The story was captivating enough to make you want to find out more, and the challenge puzzles were a nice little addition. All things considered, this is a well put-together game: congrats! As a side, note, was the first bonus level supposed to be playing a well-known song? I didn't recognise it if it was. :P
To be honest, this game feels pretty cheaply made and unfinished. Frequently, I found myself unable to change weapons, enemies repeatedly flew directly through the walls, and there were other issues, like how the second boss suddenly becomes invulnerable when he's attacking for no readily apparent reason. A good effort, but I'm not particularly impressed.
Well, I really dislike this game. Partially, it's due to my computer not being able to handle it, so all of the really powerful weapons, such as the satellite dish or USS never go where I aim them, but it's also just a really slow, and one-sided game. I can see how people might enjoy it, but yeesh, I'm sure not. :P
