A fun game with a pretty smooth feel, plenty of difficulty (to finish the construct sets with gameovers? whew...), a nice visual appeal and reasonable controls. Good job!
I had a lot of fun with this game, but there were a few things I noted: for one the "try again button" does exactly the same thing as the "return to menu" button, after you die. Additionally, a kill and death counter would be nice, since it's impossible to tell how close you are to those achievements. Also, In my opinion, 100 deaths is a bit much, since I beat all the other achievements with just over 10 deaths. Anyway, the game was fun, so congrats.
Interesting game, interesting concept, but with a few things I'd like to see improved. My main issue is that the pills spawn a tiny bit too slowly, in some cases, so there simply aren't enough to keep you from dying. On a more straight-forward note though, I'd like a pause.
Ok, I have gone from being mildly frustrated with the level editor to very unhappy with it. After putting in numerous hours on a level, and making at least passable art across its entire length, I loaded it up to find chunks missing from every major portion. Bricks were missing from the course, and colour was misplaced in the art. Honestly, I don't know what the point of trying to make something good is, if it gets torn to shreds whenever you save. I didn't mind fixing the smaller mishaps, like colour bleeding over the edges, but this is rediculous. I basically have to re-draw the entire map's worth of art. This may be an uncommon glitch, but it is unbelievebly aggravating, and has happened more than once to me.
Well, the game is something I was never too addicted to, but I love the level editor. One problem however, it has suddenly stopped loading my level, so I can no longer finish updating it... any reason or solutions for this?
Ok, so it seems as though it doesn't matter what my weapon set-up is when I quit, I always start with the Spread Missiles, Super Stingers and Energy Spear equipped, in that order... I tried playing campaign levels before restarting and endless mode, to see if that would have any effect on wether or not it remembered my weapon set-up, but it didn't have any effect. Dunno what/if you can do anything about that, but I figured it'd be good to know about. Also, happy new year! :P
Ooh, another odd thing I've discovered: A few times now I've started up the game to find that my first weapon - which was the flak cannon when I turned the game off - had swapped to the spread missile. None of the other weapons changed, and it's done it a few times now. I'll experiment a bit and see if I can give you more specific descriptions of what's happening.
Heh, sorry to fill up the comments, but I found an interesting bug: If you remove a weapon from your active equipment, and then play a level before where you earned it, it vanishes from your inventory until you play a level past where you earned it.
Nerdook, I don't know if you still read these comments, but I have a suggestion for you: I think your game is fabulous, but that a lot of people are having trouble with the level 5 boss. It's just way more than most people expect. People get there, get frustrated, and stop without really getting to experience the full game. What I'd suggest is possibly putting in another of those hint texts reminding the player that by pressing spacebar they can activate their sword, which can deflect bullets. Without that knowledge, the first boss is nigh-on impossible, and with it, it becomes do-able, so more people are likely to keep playing, enjoy the game more, and get more out of it. Obviously, it's not for me to tell you what to do, but I think that that would be a good idea.
Oh, another thing I noticed. Occaisionally, after killing the stealth fighters, if I was in their path, I'd get the same amount of damage as though I'd been hit, without being hit. This only happens to me in Endless Mode, so I don't know if that makes a difference, but it's happened a few times now, and I thought I should mention it. Again, great job with the game.
I have to say, I really enjoy this game. I was a bit frustrated with it at first, since I didn't notice how to use the sword, which is key in places, but all in all, I have to say it's well made. Congrats on a great game! One thing to point out, though: The battleship boss has a blind spot in the top left, right next to itself and right against the wall. It rarely shoots there, and the lasers can't touch you.
Two things to note, besides the fact that the game is good: Occaisionally, pieces of enemies seem to get stuck in the top of the screen. By pieces, I mean like, half an orange enemy, a third of a green enemy, etc... Also, what's going on with the top left corner? it seems to mimic what's going on elsewhere, with random explosions in it for no reason, etc...
You've just got to love the secret levels. A well made, smooth interface - yay for basic drawing skills! - and and appealing appearance, not to mention great design and it simply being fun make for a great game. Good job and keep it up!
The game was great fun, right up until I ran out of levels and was stuck in an enemy-less space. If you're going to end the levels so abruptly, I might suggest giving the player a way to end the game and register their score. Either that or it was a glitch.
Well, I guess you did add somthing that looks like ivy as backgrounds for most of the questions, which is a step in the right direction, but this is till a thoroughly flawed game which needs work. Good luck improving on the base you have.
As many others have noted, none of the quiz is actually relevent to the answers. You now have three essentially identical un-quizzes, with varied irrelevent questions, which grant you nothing more than fairly unsatisfying pictures of whatever animal you are now apparently similar to. I have no problem with people learning how to improve their work, but please stop posting the same game in a different shell every time. Put in at least a little actual effort and vary what you prdouce for the better. Eventually you might actually find yourself with a good game on your hands. Until then, all I can say is good luck to you on future games, and stop re-doing this one!
In my opinion, this game is a nice effort, but not a complete success. It does what it is supposed to, I suppose, but it is fairly bland and has little in it to add challange. I was able to make a 650 height tower with minimal effort and doing nothing more than stacking tall blocks on top of each other in a stack on my first attempt. The lack of any time constraints between blocks also made it incredibly easy to make a stack containing all the blocks without dropping any. Also, I miss the panning out feature that 99 bricks had, so that you could see the whole tower at the end. On the whole, good job, I think you acheieved what you were after with this game, but it just doesn't do it for me.
