It has... potential. What it needs, in my opinion, is an objective. Right now, as many have pointed out, it is not really that fun. The key structure of a game is challenge-reward based. This game needs to have a challenge, like resource expenditure, a time limit, or space pirates. Then, there needs to be some kind of reward for completing these goals, such as more buildings, levels, or just interesting things to locate. On the plus side, I love the graphics.
Those aren't the primary colors noob! :P
Seriously, though, I hate how so many people believe, and thus perpetuate the falsehood that the primary colors are red, yellow and blue.
VVVVVV was a great game. I highly recommend purchasing it, unless you have a problem with high blood pressure. Veni Vidi Vici is the most evil set of levels ever.
I can't seem to purchase the riding mower, even though I have $262. This town is the most messed up town ever, though. I mean, who lets wormholes form on their yard? That can't be good for land value. One more thing. The lottery seems to have a positive expected outcome. That means that one can farm it for money! XD
Very good. My main complaint is that the text in the mouseover boxes is always black, so on some levels, like level two, it is nearly impossible to see. It's a little limited, and there aren't many instructions (that I noticed). Some of the text overflows a bit too. Still, as a TD fan, I can say this one is worth playing.
At the surface, this seems like a terrible game, one which is an obvious 1/5. I laughed to myself when I noticed the irony that one made such a noobish game claiming to be against noobs. In fact, with the description, I realize that this is not what it seems. It is in fact a satire of nooby flash developers and the garbage games that they put on these web sites. It really speaks to me. Your clever social commentary deserves a five, because it is so witty.
It's obviously a serious attempt, so I'll give it some constructive criticism. First of all, the game needs some context, such as a story. I would love to hear why there are people and fish falling from the sky, and you could probably come up with a clever reason. The area where you can click to shoot has to either be the whole area, or a marked area. I often found myself clicking outside it and not firing. Another aspect of the game that really needs modification is its scope and length. Thirty shots is not really enough for a good game. It would be pretty easy to modify the game to make the levels continue on forever, randomly spawning enemies/debris at increasing rates. This could be compounded by making different types of enemies, not just in appearance, like you have, but health for example. Although not necessary, it would be very cool to also put in some kind of upgrade system, either with money from kills or points from leveling up.
I was surprised at how much fun I was able to have from such a simple game. I believe that with some practice and polish, you could make some really good games. This is definitely better than many beginning games I have seen.
This game is amazing. I am already considering purchasing it. Personally, I think that having this demo is a really good business strategy. Now I want to play more, but I need to pay to do so. A connundrunm. Unfortunately, much of Kongregate seems to be used to free games, and don't like the thought of paying for it. Honestly, I wish it was free, but I think I'd happily pay for it. Or not, because I fear my other activities might suffer as much as they do every other time I get a new game. We'll see.
