On my old computer, the game slows down quite a bit buying the later upgrades. Or, the skeletons are really slow, as it took about 10-15 minutes for them to reach my dragons fire breathing range after attacking on the map.
Restarting helped with the lag. Very fun to play, although the unlocks are quite random and not always beneficial. As others have mentioned, boomerang has a very long flight and much lower rate of hit compared to any other ability. Similarly, ice lance flies and charges slowly and explosion is only useful if one stands next to a wall. It feels like due to high rate of enemy spawn and random weapons, I keep hitting a 600-700 gold wall. Still, fun to play! 5/5
thanks for the review vints, next time I'll include controls explanation in-game. It was no problem on other sites, but Kong puts the instructions way down.
Is it only possible to build a single tower? I have a magical village next to water, but I cannot build anything on water. It is slightly confusing at first, but overall nice 5 minutes game!
Thanks! Yes, it's only possible to build one tower of each type. It's currently not possible to build on water, but I'm working on an update that will make water a bit more useful!
I played with the archer and overall the game looks polished and functional. Still, some aspects did not make sense. Level scaling of the enemies is not gradual; the enemies on the desert and in the nest are drastically different. Death doesn't seem to have any penalty, so instead of consuming potions you can simply die. Items in the shop and their prices do not make much sense, as magical items drop easily. The hero items scale in strength but also in price and it is not possible to accumulate enough gold to buy them, given the enemies are limited in number and your hero levels up much faster than gold drop rate. Also, limited number of enemies also make additional experience attribute in items much more useful compared to others.
Nice little game with relaxing music and gameplay. I don't know if it has to do with my locale, but the text is pixelated and boxy. Keep up the good work!
It is an interesting game. Still, there are a few issues that I can observe directly. As to the sense of challenge, the limit on number of towers made it impossible for me to defeat the first area. Weirdly challenges are easier and greatly increase your gold and make it a lot easier to defeat maps. Also, it would be nice to see the available area when building a tower, as the objects on the map can also obstruct construction. Keep up the good work!
Feels a bit grindy from the start. Defeating the second boss requires multiple defeats of the first. Also, my game got stuck while fighting the second boss. The decaying wind was decreasing hp of my team but all other actions(attacks, casts) were stuck. Restarting lead to a black screen.
This is a very well polished game. The pieces are a nice improvement over Unpuzzle and the pace is just right. I encountered no bugs, and the finalizing touches(converting pieces when there is no additional interacting piece remaining) has a strangely satisfying feeling :) 5/5
Interesting game. Very simple gameplay with some interesting small details such as the death knight inside the coffin in one of the earlier levels or the staff of the lich. Nice music!
Thank you! btw, there also hidden sword and bow (raise attack/damage) and buckler (ads new skill for dark elf hero). And, SPOILER ALERT, you can call Spider Goddess Avatar in final battle
Score drops sometimes after defeating enemies, which is weird. In the level with bugs, it is impossible to hit the flies flying above. Overall, nice art style, simple game.
It is somehow intense on my computer. The game stops responding for about a second after I shoot. I thought it was somehow the way graphics worked, but interestingly shooting continuously doesn't slow it down.
This is basically turn based haxball or billard where every player is basically a cue ball :) You can bounce the ball from the perimeter or hit opponents to push them out of the way or make them hit their teammates or the ball. I believe the AI is not terribly bad, making a choice between hitting your players or the ball, but doesn't perform very well. The general strategy is to put the ball behind as many opponents as you can or getting a clear shot by moving the opponents to the sides. Short and not very in depth, but still has idea and execution. 3/5.
Charge and power strike skills are very useful. Frost towers were the most dangerous enemies IMHO. They can lay frost bombs, attack from afar and have lots of HPs. Make sure to find all towers in range before closing in or you can quickly be killed. Charge, power strike the tower. If another tower is present, keep the one you attack between yourself and the other. Some frost bombs damage the towers if their position allows. I had a long sword, a ring of flying(tile penalties do not apply) and a ring of vampire(+1 hp for every enemy killed), which were ultimately very useful. There is a nice manual I've found on web, showing items, enemies, etc: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TQJ26t_HWHRwEJk_2CmCC3d6Cvhjm0odHHGlhW5Q3V8/edit#gid=1870192388
This game requires some amount of luck and is quite unforgiving, but I can give some general (obvious) guidelines: Your aim is survival until you reach the Goblet of Yendor. Killing your enemies before they can hit you, collecting all potions and shrooms, pacing your use of food, and evading/using traps are essential steps for that. I have played with warrior and barbarian and finished with barbarian. For melee attackers, movement speed is important. Unless you are fighting more than one fast enemy, you can pace yourself so that your enemy cannot hit you without you hitting it. With power strike(barbarian/warrior) you can push your enemies, so that you can destroy your enemy without getting hit. For multiple enemies you can use walls obviously. Chests and other enemies can block projectiles. Sleeping/unaware, unstable enemies get an additional damage penalty that you can use. A long sword and a warrior talent together provide 50% chance of blocking projectiles, which is quite handy.
