OK. I got past the too-much-wall-jumping level (1-3) and breezed through to 3-3. Unlike WangDangler, I did not find 2-3 particularly difficult. Anyway, I got to the part of 3-3 where there's a lot more fussy wall-jumping, so I'm done. I did like the jumping on the moving walkways, and I do think your jumping and mid-air feel is quite good. But I"m too frustrated, and not in a good way, at the fussy wall jumps.
I'm already getting tired of well-timed wall jumping being the only skill, especially when it seems rather fussy. (If you coast into the wall and have release the left or right too soon, you don't jump. This seems unlike how other games have trained my fingers.) Anyway, I'm hoping that the next set of levels offers some new challenge, or I'm out.
Sigh. Now I'm stuck on the Egyptian hieroglyphics box. I saw the hint on the side opposite the place where you can change them, but that didn't help. I tried putting the first two in the first two spots, and tried everything else for the third position. I also tried putting those under where the clue is, and every choice for third position. I lukewarmly tried bottom up rather than top down, but if that were it, I'd be ready to quit the game just for being arbitrary. I feel that if your hint has one of them a question mark, then it should be the straightforward interpretation once you figure out what goes in the question mark. Anyway, giving up for now. I hope the game saves my progress.
Also, space bar and right-click should zoom back out when you are zoomed in. I took a long time hitting the button you provided, because it looks like a reset button -- I thought it might undo what I had already done. A 'move back' arrow would be clearer, and keyboard shortcuts would be helpful. Open/close inventory keyboard shortcut might be nice, too.
I am also stuck on what I thought was the UV safe. At least, it's the safe you see next after getting the UV light, but I'm with meow..., that hint makes not sense with what I see. Umm, nvm, got it. BTW, the box your game is in is slightly too small, causing it to need scroll bars, which are annoying. Full screen gets around this, but it looks frighteningly and unnecessarily huge on my big screen.
Ugh! All the way from the very beginning. Forget it. I did think that it was a little interesting in the variety of monster, such that I had to pay a little attention, and I think it was the final boss that I was on, which was about right. I wasn't that interested to play a long time more, without some more interesting puzzles or something more than hack and slash. Still the engine was pretty good, and you could have a great game with save points, more power ups, some puzzles, and a little more variety.
Did the sleeping guy drop that coin? I know it wasn't there before. Anyway, I finished, but it felt a little anti-climactic. It needed maybe one more puzzle to get the engine on to my ship. (Perhaps some way to put down the sleeping guy to make the crane available, Maybe the sequence 1 Use crane inside office to move engine to block door. 2. Hook inside crane to sleeping guy so both are on him. 3. Lower outside crane and raise inside crane to pull guy inside. 4. Disconnect outside crane from guy. 5. Connect outside crane to engine to pull it on to ship. This implies that we can manipulate cranes, so we should have had to figure out to connect it to sleeping guy in the first place.
Thanks for playing! Great suggestion about adding another puzzle - probably too late for us to do that now, but something for us to be thinking about as we move ahead with more new content!
I think I'm stuck in the same place as gzx12. I have freed the old man and unlocked the engine, I have red wire, blue wire, and screwdriver in inventory, but I can't find anything else to do. The man wants a zet, but I can't figure out how to give him one. I've tried the wires and screwdriver in the more obvious places, but you make it so hard to use stuff from inventory that I'm not going to try it everywhere. (I hate it when games require that, anyway.) If you're going to make me open the inventory every time, at least keep the item selected while I try it different places.
Why can't I turn unless I'm moving forward? (Real tanks can. They move their tracks in opposite directions and they spin in place.) The left and right are too sensitive, IMHO.
There seems to be a pretty wide variation in how long after I drop a bomb until it explodes. I try to time it to blow up the ghosts, but sometimes it's a bout a second and sometimes 3 or 4 seconds.
I'm at level 24 and I realized I'm bored with the beginner levels, which are too easy. I see that you force me to get maximum score on all beginner levels, just to see the next tier. Wrong choice. Bye.
It needs to get harder as you move on. Vary the speed of rotation, reduce the size of the gaps, add more sprites -- by level 38 (as far as I bothered) there should be runs of 5 or 6 steps with sprites on them, and occasionally steps with 2 sprites. Otherwise, it does have a hypnotic quality that is kind of fun.
Thanks for comment, currently the game is getting harder each level by increasing number of spikes and rotation speed od segments. I wasn't sure if it's not too easy, maybe I'll add hard mode for more hardcore players :)
--- SPOILER BELOW ---
Definitely a cut above the average escape game, since they've become so repetitive. I agree with several comments that I couldn't tell what some of the things were, but only discovered their use by random clicking. If I had realized that the item was a fishing rod, I probably would have tried to combine the rope and rod before using it, which would have left me frustrated. Fortunately, I didn't know what it was until I used it. Also, I never understood the point of filling in the pentacle -- did that summon the baby? I know he wasn't there before, then he was, so maybe that's it, but it wasn't clear. Finally, I see that the painting of dogs with pentacle was clues to which items go into the one I need, but since I couldn't tell what two of those items were in the painting, I was glad that only the correct items would go into the pentacle anyway. But that would have been a good puzzle, to get the right items in the right order.
