Frustrating in a good way. I finally felt like I was getting it, and I beat a level on my first try (for the first time). I thought, OK, one more tricky level with just blue and green and he's going to introduce another type. Instead, I got the 'you have won' message. So my first time beating a level on my first try was the boss? :-) Anyway, 4/5. I'd try a V2.
Two different tries at spelling Magnesium -- both wrong.
And I keep stressing over the incorrect formula 2Na + 2H2O ... Is it incorrect because you don't understand chemistry, or is it incorrect as a clue of some sort? I'm leaning towards the former.
Not bad. I got to the final boss and hadn't yet bought the 500 gem sword or armor, so he was challenging. (I didn't run into the glitch others have mentioned.) I would have gone to an earlier level to farm another 20 gems, which is all I needed to get one of them, but that's not available.
@Lunarwolff: Only 4 miners? What were you thinking? I made 4 miners before making anything else. I think I had 30 miners by level 20, all mining max'ed mines.
Playing on medium, the level before the final one, I was running with 40ish fully upgraded guards, and would lose maybe 7 or 8 of them in an attack. When I saw that Wave 20 was giving me extra time to prepare, I figured that something big was about to happen, so I pushed my army up to 55 fully upgraded guards. They were slaughtered. With no health bar for the enemy, I had no idea if I was in the neighborhood or not. How many do you need to beat him? Or is he just unbeatable?
Kind of fun, in a frustrating sort of way. :-) For ghost mode, I suggest space, as well, since that is easy and you need something for the WASD players to use. I'm sure you'll get suggestions for more controls -- speed, etc., but I would vote against those. I really like the simplicity. What you might do for more variety is more types of environments. For example, an ice floor where you can't stop or turn, you just keep going until you're either off the ice or hit a wall. Floors with conveyor belts, so you go fast in one direction and slowly the other. Dark rooms where you can only see a little way. Etc.
Same issue as youngmakar -- The hint still says to visit Awk after I've imprisoned him. I checked everything in his house, and I used the thing I found in the drawers. And it STILL says to visit him. (Also, his window is closed when viewed from the outside and open when viewed from the inside.)
Noted, I understand where the problem lies now. I'll fix it as soon as I can! [EDIT] BUG FIXED!
Thank you for your feedback, it was very useful to locate the error that was causing that bug
I'm just asking for another icon on the Finished Race screen, "Retry against a new opponent." It doesn't need a keyboard shortcut, because i'm going to need the mouse to choose the new opponent anyway. The reason I want it is I'm trying to get to three stars, and it is informative to race against someone who is closer to that goal. Sometimes they show a trick or shortcut that I hadn't thought of.
About not getting more followers, I recall that you don't start having the race against others until race 10, I think, so maybe people just aren't getting to it.
So you want a button to autoselect the SAME level again after the race in opposition to selecting the next level. Then you could choose another opponent for the same level. Is that correct? Btw.: I don't know if you have noticed but you can always watch the top 10 players on each level if you press the blue globe on top of the opponent selection. - The introduction of the opponents after level 10 is on purpose to not confuse new players with a lot of buttons. I could change it to show earlier though. - Thanks again -- Update: I have just uploaded a new version which will automatically select an opponent for you. It's not quite the button you asked for but I hope it helps.
And one more thing :-) When I finish a race, I want a faster way to say retry, but let me pick a new opponent first. Right now it's two or three too many clicks.
You can retry immediately by pressing Esc but I guess you have already noticed that. It does not give you a new opponent though. I have to say this is an unusual request. Most of the time the players just want to get to the next track as fast as possible. That's what I have optimized the menu for. Maybe I can find a nice solution to his but I'm not sure. - Anyhow, thanks once more for your feedback. This is exactly what I have been looking for on kongregate :-)
Hmm. I'm a little surprised you're not getting more comments. Racing against saved players is quite engaging. Anyway, last issue: I've had a couple games where I've broken the finish flag but it still considered me too far above it to "finish."
Thanks again for your feedback :-) -- Yes, that's a known issue which is complicated to fix properly. - Let me explain: It's not hard in a technical way but changing the "detection" area for the finish line would enable new players to gain an advantage over "older" players who had to hit the goal exactly. I know it's frustrating to see the flag break and not reach the goal but I'd rather have that than being unfair to those old players. -- Unfortunately that's one of the caveats if you try to make the racing comparable. Once you have had a certain amount of players racing on a track you can not change it without invalidating all those recorded races. -- Anyhow, increasing the "detection" area of the finish line may be possible without causing too much harm. I'll have to think about it. No promises though. -- Hint: try to hit it low. The detection area is a rectangle on the right side of the second pole. It stretches up to the middle of the flag.
You get used to ESC being the restart when you are not doing well and want to start over. Then, when you crash, ESC doesn't work and Enter is restart from checkpoint. Please add ESC as a restart after a crash.
I have disabled "Esc to restart" in the crash screen beacuse then most players would just hit Esc and miss the opportunity to restart from the checkpoint. Making Esc the "restart from checkpoint" option may be a good fit. Right now it does nothing which definitely violates expectations. I'll look into it. Thank you for your feedback :-) --- UPDATE: You can now use Esc or Enter to restart from the last Checkpoint.
They are. It's just that the boulder starts rolling whenever you reach a certain spot. Other players may have reached that point earlier or later. In consequence the boulder may be at an other position for them. Hope that was understandable.
OK, I guess I can use WASD to scroll. That is much better. It's still a little jerky, and I still want to see more of the screen at a time. Also, as many have said, it's too grindy. I have 2nd level units, now, which don't seem worth it, since they cost almost 3 times a base unit but die just as fast. I'm looking at playing 12 or 15 times before getting any more interesting units, and I'm not up for that much grind.
screen scrolling is too sensitive and jerky. Let me use AWSD to scroll the screen, and do it more slowly. Or make the hit space where the screen scrolls be bigger, and still do it more slowly. The zoom function only seems to zoom a tiny bit. I want to zoom out way more. If I shift-place a tower, them I should keep placing and not have to click back on tower select. When the big tanks run over my towers, I'm sad. :-) (In, perhaps, a good way.) I assume there are sturdier towers later on, or maybe walls I can build to protect from this.
Thank you. I usually encounter games where the up key is to climb ladders or go into doors, etc., that is why I chose not to make it the jump key. I see where you're coming from though, and I hope you enjoyed the experience just the same :p.
Hi, thank you for your feedback. I will try to add more types of environment. I like the idea of ice floor
