holy shit i just had an awesome idea; imagine a version of mud and blood 2, but with ORKS from 40k! from that thought, my inner gork just roared with joy.

i think i gained a clue on the freeze bug, at least for all units other than the officer and engineer; i just noticed that sometimes, allied units will fire on enemy units engaged in close combat. i suspect that the time a unit is stuck in close combat is calculated as soon as close combat happens, so when the enemy dies prematurely, an allied unit continues to be stuck in place until his combat is supposed to end. if the allied unit was supposed to die from the close combat, buit the enemy was killed by gunfire, i suppose that would explain why the allied unit becomes stuck in place permanently, with no enemy units ever firing on it. of course, this doesn't explain why units freeze when they do not engage in close combat and in fact are not even fired upon -unless somehow there is some conflict with units attempting to acquire target on an enemy that died at the exact same time. weird bug, but it's easy to see how this may have been missed.

@regirock: not me, medics raise your soldiers xp if they get injured! @warrock: the scout is actually faster, and in my experience will reach 100 xp much faster than the spec ops (at 100xp, the scout will throw 3 grenades every 10 seconds! he is absolutely my favorite unit in the game :D). on an unlrelated note, i just discovered that the machinegunner is also guilty of the freeze bug; i note that this time, the unit appeared to engaged in close combat with a soldier that seemed to die at the very same time from gunfire. however, unlike the officer and engineer, the machinegunner became unstuck after 5 waves.

the freeze bug is not related to close combat; i just had three games in a row end prematurely due to the freeze bug and each time the frozen unit never entered close combat -in fact, this last time, it was an engineer and he wasn't even fired upon. very strange. i wonder if the error is related to a targeting issue; one time, i had an officer freeze after raising his firearm to engage an enemy that died before the officer could take a shot, about half a second later. this, plus the way the white text just hangs on the screen is making this game feel a bit tiresome.

great. my engineer freezes in place and i don't find out till i've moved all my other troops to the next field. luckily, i had 19 points saved up so i bought a tank with the next enemy wave. unluckily, the tank fired on itself and blew itself up. the wave of enemies passed right by my engineer, pretending he didn't exist just like he was pretending i didn't exist. wonderful. this is why this game isn't in the top five (and yet i'm going to keep playing because its just that addictive).

i reckon it's not in the top five because of its very frustrating freeze bug which afflicts officers and spec ops most often. once in a while, inexplicably, the officer will freeze in place and i cannot issue commands to it -and amazingly, the cpu also will not target it. the unit stays frozen even after the 'hold fire' command is given to it and i once watched as an officer lived through 30 waves of enemies without moving.

i lost 5 tanks and countless soldiers using the tanks as cover from the tanks inexplicably firing on or behind themselves. just now, my one tank killed 3 men and itself in three seperate 'misfires.' this, quite frankly, is ridiculous and i hope this problem gets fixed in the next version. i understand that there should be some spread for the tank -there also should be a minimum hit range, like the bazooka and grenades so the tanks don't blow themselves up --and by no means do i think it is realistic that a tank fires its cannon and the shot lands somewhere behind the mouth of the cannon.

oh great, now one of my soldiers is stuck on a log. the fundamentals of this game are quite fun, but there are a number of irritating bugs and minor issues that i hope get resolved in the next version.

i've discovered a bug; if an officer engages in close combat, he stays frozen in place even after his opponent is dead. _i think_ he only becomes unstuck after another enemy engages him in ranged combat.

OMFG this is lame; there should be a line at the top which after crossing, no more germans should appear; i keep losing when moving my troops up because i end up with one guy left or 5 guys appear one millisecond before my guys cross to the next field.

ugh, this game needs some better tips; lots of weird crap happens that seems inexplicable; bunkers get relocated, units don't fire... annoying.
