just noticed that the pugilist never seems to get orbs while sweep is active. this has to be a bug, considering that the pugilist cannot get stat boosts from books and thus has great difficulty getting past level 30
this game needs a lot of optimizing. the lag is incredible. i have to press and hold a move key for 3-5 seconds before the avatar starts moving. cool music, cool concept, cool implementation, bad bad optimization.
oof, just reporting back to say that i think the audio bug was on my end. excellent game.
if i'm not mistaken though, it feels like the merchant/bandit was made easier, which i hope isn't the case. i loved how tough those bastards were. i also hope that at higher levels of the tower, more enemies start spawning goons.
i hope the steam version makes you some bank random9!
Good God, i love this game! and i love that you keep updating it!
Imo act 2 and act 3 ought to switch places as act 3 is relatively easy on suicide and the beginning levels of act 2 are fairly difficult for most characters.
also, i think it would be really awesome if we could get suicide mode as well as bosses for the tower. perhaps as the levels progress, there could be more enemies, multiple minibosses and eventually multiple final boss characters per level to really make things difficult!
the wisp SUCKS. it wanders too far, doesn't obey line of sight rules, dies too easily, misses too much and aggros everything within a quarter mile radius. i think the rules and downsides of the wisp need to be readjusted.
Since most of the action takes place offscreen, imo the big flaw with this game is that the minimap is not directly over the ship. Still, it is an excellent game. I hope we'll get to see a version 2!
under what conditions would anyone agree with the 'guardians?'
as i understand it, the land of tempor is under attack. the phoenix council unites the two factions and makes them both prosperous. thanks to their combined efforts, they are now strong enough not only to withstand the enemy but also to conquer and re-civilize them.
the guardians emerge as an anti war group and are exiled. the irony here is that the guardians' efforts to protect the outsiders undermines their own civilization and directly aids their enemies who secretly wish to conquer them. the only thing the guardians have going for them is that they've stolen some secret weapon.
basically, the guardians are shortsighted upstarts who endanger their own welfare. i don't get how anyone could support them. even if you consider yourself an outsider, how does it make sense to ally yourself with a weaker, exiled group?
i just don't understand how anyone could join the guardians.
hey urbz, any chance in the next version we'll get a volume dial? i enjoy the ambiance and sounds of this game, but i need it to be at a lower volume if i'm listening to something else.
PS: thanks for restoring the rifle grenades, and (mostly) fixing the lag issue! this version still has one other problem however: the pillbox appears to prevent units from firing within a perimeter of about half a sandbag's width away.
