after beating easy, hard was surprisingly easy to beat. don't have the time or patience for elite, however...
30, you toss the first grenade through, and while the things are going off hit the second pipe.
that was definitely the easiest 50 points I ever got on Kong...I mean, an impossible badge only gives you 60! Imagine getting EVERY SINGLE F***** BADGE on amorphous vs. beating this silly game :P
LLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEE
I've been stuck on the prometheus mission for a good half hour. I've flown everywhere and blown up every damn thing I could find, including going out to that distant transponder (twice). Flying around randomly in empty space searching for scouts does not a fun game make.
Other than that, it's really solid. I like the controls and the feel of gameplay. 4/5 because of this damn mission.
A really solid game. Only, the fact that they don't disclose that it'a a demo ANYWHERE on the page, lowers it from 4 or 5/5 to 1/5. Sorry. Read that bar at the top of the browser? "Play Skies of War, a free online game on Kongregate". Emphasis FREE. If they disclosed it's a demo AT ALL before you invest 20 minutes playing it, it would get 4 or 5 stars.
NOTE ON LIGHTNING GUN: if you only press the button every two or three seconds you will shoot constantly but never run out of juice.
And level 58 took me five days (not straight through playing, of course). BFG, laser lock, and lightning won out finally. Just took a bit of luck and maxing out my reflexes for a few minutes. I died after 250 5 different times. Some people might not like that, but that's how the game is made, and it's intentional - it adds to the challenge.
I got to say, lvl 58 is a pain in the ASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. Took me forever! BFG, lightning, and laser lock ended up getting it done. 59 and 60 were pieces of cake by comparison.
bmxvat, are you one of those people who asks for permission to use the toilet? Level 58 is one of the hardest levels in the game, if you've got a brilliant plan to beat it, then please, that's what this board is for!
The mother cube is a pain in the ass. I equipped the energy missiles to constantly fire while I dodged, the rail gun, and the big laster. And it took like 50 tries.
One more hint; it's a good idea to earn as much as you can early on, because once you have bought all of the weapons, you don't have to worry about picking up the crystals in the later levels. Also, the final weapon isn't really that great, i rarely used it after buying it. You only get one shot with like a 10 or 15 second reload.
A few tips: 1) Instead of holding the mouse down with lightning, just press it every two seconds. This way you can fire continuosly without ever reloading. Focusing on avoiding shots while constantly shooting lightning is an effective strategy at even the highest levels, although you don't earn as much.
2) Vortex combined with BFG lets you easily earn the money for the top weapons on the right level.
3) The single most effective weapon against turrets and buildings is the short shield.
In my opinion, these are the most important weapons to buy when you can afford them:
1) Arc Spread
2) Energy Homers
3) Lightning
4) Big Laser
5) Short Shield
Two tips: 1) the lightning gun rocks. get it as soon as possible 2) the vortex combined with the BFG let you rack up insane amounts of money on certain levels and make getting the top weapons easy.
Most important weapons, IMHO:
1) Arc Spread
2) Energy
3) Lightning Gun
4) Big Laser
Don't bother with this game. The first half is pretty good, but it totally falls apart. You have to mindlessly grind for hours, just to be priveleged enough to try and finish. After a certain level, all you get for levelling up is a few stat points and it get's EXTREMELY boring. Be warned.
