Just got the impossible badge. Would have been impossible without the help of https://www.youtube.com/user/KongRubix/search?query=pyro and the very new comment by somnanbulancer. Thanks a bunch!

@kieblera5
That's normal, to aced this level, you have to get a minimum of 3 torches. It's written on top right of the screen.

not a bad game i would give it 3.5 but you can't, so...
good points
its fun when you fin a level and its menataly (can't spell lol) rewarding
bad points the aim sensitivity is to low!
:)

hmm i aced level 40 and it said there was a secret level coming up but it just said you saved the castle from darkness and took me to the main screen is there any way i can play that one

For stage four, you have to be able to move the mouse outside of the play area and register a click to get the correct angle to ace it, and for people who can't click after the mouse is outside, it is impossible. (For example, myself.) Fix this...it's the only thing preventing me from getting the impossible..>.<

look, i like this game, but if i can't ace stage 37 after zooming my browser to 400% and using the 'mouse as keypad' feature to literally count pixels to find the shot... then i'm 1* the game.
as a note, it takes about 4 pixels to force the red line to move. then it moves too far. so what's going on?

"Vimes, it is actually possible to get it. You just have to shoot it up not directly at it. When you shoot up for #4, you must aim for the "right bracket". This means your aim line must be touching that bracket 3/4 of the way down, on the bracket. Then you get your Ace."
If you are talking about the way that it has been done in the youtube videos then no, it isn't. For that my cursor is outside of the game area and, therefore, will not let me do it.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It's also actually impossible for some computers to ace level 4 (i.e. the only one I have not aced) because they will not fire from outside the game screen.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The game bug is, that for some computers the impossible badge really is impossible. On some systems, the boxes burn faster than on others. Someone told me, how this is possible, but I forgot his explanation. Has it something to do with the frames? I don't know...
So that means, even if I did 100% the same like someone, who got the impossible badge, it doesn't necessarily mean I get it, too.
And this is what makes this badge really annoying. You spend your time with something that won't work, not beacause of you but your hardware.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I'm having the same problem as ItachiJin... I only know to shoot it from off screen from a guide but I can't even do that so I have no idea how else to ace level 4
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
is there a way to ace lvl 4 without your cursor being off screen? my comp won't let me shoot if the cursor is off screen so it seems that I can't complete the impossible badge...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
it would be so much less frustrating when you see the aim of your previous shot (or shots). this way it is guess the lucky pixel, shoot, fail, then it is guessing all over again because you have no idea which pixel you got the last time.

Can someone help with level 4? When my cursor goes off screen and I line up the guideline correctly I can't release the ball...This is because my cursor is off-screen and any clicks or releases I do off-screen aren't registered by the game. So I have to drag my cursor back on-screen at which point the guideline isn't lined up anymore. Anyone have this problem? Thanks.

With no information on your previous failures or way of marking the screen, later levels are merely a game pitting obstinacy against sheer chance. While I enjoyed the earlier levels, the later levels nearly transcend the levels of obnoxious that Meat Boy's map pack spewed on Kongregate users.

I just got 25 to 7 seconds (that's how i got the badge). You have to burn the boxes first otherwise you'll be waiting for too long. Use about half the bar of power and aim at the middle of the boxes. You want it to hit the boxes, bounce out, light the torch, and bounce back in. Hopefully you'll land in the middle on the burning boxes. Once they burn away you'll fall down and light the others. What's your total time btw?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Oh, wait now I remember how I did 20. There are three boxes around the purple ball. You want to aim for the area right under the box that's sticking out (the left box). You want to bounce off the top of the platform and then hit the bottom left corner of that box. This will make it shoot straight out to the left and hopefully light the first torch, bounce back, and light the one under the platform.

My computer was lagging like hell. I didn't do anything to bring it up. I can't reproduce the glitch. For 20 use two balls. There's a bunch of ways to do it, but the main idea is that you have to hit the corner on one of bottom pillars just right to make it shoot under the platform and light that torch. Then you really quickly shoot at the top torch. I can't remember my exact technique. For 38 you have to use a low power: about half the bar. Shoot it directly at the top torch and hope it bounces into that hole right above the bottom torch that you need to light. Both of these will probably take several tries.

nugget, I have these times (my total time is currently 161, lol): 20; 4.295 - 25; 8.587 (but could go down to 7 if i get it jsut right) - 35; 12.462 - 38; 7.373 - 40; 3.463 Level 40 glitched for sure. I could only get it as low as 9 seconds. I tried getting it lower and then i got some lag spike, lol.

@Annihilator: The target control is just below the fireball. Clicking the fireball would better meet players' expectations. Best would have any mouse-down not on a button (Suicide, Mute) display the targeting control. Separating the Power control from targeting would be nice; targeting while using less than full power is difficult.
The R and Q keys should work on the "You lose" screen. "Reset" and "Choose Level" should have buttons on the level screens to avoid requiring a keyboard.
The level screens should display the best time achieved, the time needed to achieve the 160 second total, the lowest shot count, and the shots needed for ACE.
Extra modes would be good. An "Ace mode" could automatically reset the level if the number of shots for ACE are exceeded. A "Speed mode" could return to the same level rather than advancing.
FYI: I have the 44 ACEs; I want to know which levels can be improved for the time criterion of the Pyromaniac Badge.

not great but not bad either graphics and levels are cleverly put together but the hit points on torches and randomization of the fire ball bouncing makes this a patience game instead of one of skill or strategy.

Way too much trial and error for a puzzle game.
Also, if a game needs badges or achievements to be fun, it's not a fun game.

Good game that I'm glad to see is coming form Kongregate's own, but it needs a little polish.
1) After the hint about the first purple fireball powerup, there is no info on the green, blue, or red ones. The blue one is kinda obvious, but I'm guessing red is just a plain extra fireball and green bounces more? ... But I'm guessing.
2) Suicide is good, but you really need a reset level button/key. Since Aces matter, a bad shot on the first fireball usually means you need to reset the level and suiciding thru the other shots is useless overhead.

3) You shouldn't have to click on the fireball (the area to click on is too small anyway) to start the shot. Just click anywhere. It might be nice to have a "cancel shot" key (space?) just in case of an accidental click, tho.
4) You nicely keep the time and aced status for each level, but this needs to be expanded. You should track how many shots and total time and then you can let people go back and improve. This could allow "Aced" to mean the minimum number of shots, too. Of course, this means the secret levels and what you need to do to unlock them would also be shown giving an incentive to beat your previous bests.

Irritating gameplay. With the complexity of some of the levels and particularly the serrated bottom, predicting where the ball is gonna go is guesswork at best. So for the most part I just find myself firing full force in some direction that looks good and hoping for the best. But even then, there are several levels that are more like "make each shot perfectly or else fail".

I'm getting the same Firefox issue most people mentioned. I already earned the badge ages ago, but didn't remember the game. I was about to replay it, and this bug means I definitely won't.
