Foolproof method to get hard badge: Avoid all bubbles and powerups except minesweeper and invincible. Destroy the mines by ramming into them if you have invincible, or shooting them if you have minesweeper. By avoiding bubbles, you prevent your size from increasing so you can just evade and wait for good powerups. At the same time, destroying mines gives you good points and does not increase your size.

Winning the hard badge seems to involve hitting invincibility or all bubbles at the point where it becomes impractical to dodge.

I tried this a few years ago and could barely get above 500. Now I got over 600 on my first try, 1300 on the next one, failed on the third, and got 2499 on my fourth try. :)

I don't know what's worse, the fact that I got 1,830 points before I ran out of room, or the fact that the game awarded me 3 out of 5 stars for the effort.

Once again, another "hard" that should be "impossible" since as you go along, your bubble gets larger and larger, making more area for the game to hit you with and cause ALL your time and effort to be a huge waste, with the only in game power ups having not very much in length of how long they last, and being random. However, if it was about half that score, THAT would be "hard"

Which key do I tap to "play again"? The game is keyboard controlled but you have to use the mouse. That doesn't make sense. In fact this game wouldn't be crap it you just controlled your bubble with the mouse in the first place.

And I didn't have a possible way to survive... Change Hard badge to Impossible badge, maybe? It's 97% luck, 2% skill and 1% patience -.-"

Meh. What's with the molasses controls? And the hard badge requires way too much luck. Yes, I know it says no whining.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Not a fan - because I am a fan of games that require some kind of skill to play. If you enjoy matching wits against a random numbers generator, this is the game for you!

Game has a lot of potential, but Emfinn's comment basically sums up my opinion. You should never be totally doomed in an avalanche game. The thing that should separate a good and bad score is how good you are at noticing the cracks in the danger (in this case, the mines), not dumb luck.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
4/5 for how smooth the game runs and looks as well as the interesting power ups, 1/5 for the fact that you need so much luck -.-
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
"And there is some luck involved. No whining" If by some luck, you mean a HUGE amount. Not only is it possible for there to be an impassible wall of mines, you are forced to hope to like hell for a mine repel or an invincibility in order to get through.

Oh man, "no whining"? Clearly Kongregate doesn't know us very well. It would take nothing short of divine intervention to get us to stop pissing and moaning.
Oh and yes, this badge is really freaking unfair and obnoxious. Grrr argh.

everytime i lose is always when im a big bubble and im get trapped in a corner with one mine above and to my side and i can get out.

It's been a long time since I last left a comment on this dead website, but this BOTD really takes the cake. I have played many games here that are more frustrating than this one, yet Bubbles 2 is by far the absolute worst badged gamed I have played on Kongregate. The only thing making this game less frustrating than some of the others I have excoriated is that it doesn't even stoop to the pretense of blaming the player for randomly losing. It knows that it's random and it doesn't care. There's hardly any player agency at all, and what little agency does exist is degenerate in nature. There's an essential, archetypal, almost primordial garbageness to the design of this experience. It is less a "game" than it is the *idea* of a game, a lazy scenario one might contrive as a test case for a hobby deep learning algorithm. If I could give this a score below 1/5, I wouldn't hesitate. -1/5.

Got to about 1000 points and then tried to avoid bubbles hoping to get a mine-repel or a minesweeper. Getting too big just makes it impossible without a power-up to clear the way.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Oh bubbles, you have me so confused. Your instructions tell me power-ups are good, but druggy seems to go against what I learned in school. Please help?

Just get the easy badge and forget about the hard badge. The movement is sluggish and you get too large to avoid mines before coming close to reach 1938 points to get the hard badge. Let's say you play an hour and still don't have it. That's an hour wasted without any progress. At least in many games, every hour/minute/second is progress towards your goal.

horrible, you can't complete the badge unless you get Bubbles Only, Invincible, or Minesweeper at exactly 1300-1350. You're just too big to dodge.

99% luck, 1% Skill, 100% Concentrated power of will, 0% Pleasure, 100% Pain, and 0% reason to remember the name because hackers fill the high-scores!

9,223,372,036,854,775,807 points? Its either the people who hold the top 7 all time high scores REALLY fail at hiding that they're hacking or they were playing this game since two months ago (which i doubt) and have no life... (that i dont doubt).

*scores epic amount of points* Yes, yes, my life is complete! *exits to main menu*... Wait, was I supposed to submit?!

How do they even pick the badge of the day? It seems to me like it's completely random, and they don't even test it out first. A couple days ago the badge of the day was broken and unawardable, and now this game. Based on the track record, it seems like the badge of the day does nothing but cause the players to be angry and cause the game to lose a star or two from its rating. Good work, Gamestop, for trying and failing to fix a system that wasn't broken in the first place!

Very un-polished game... The 'bubble' handles like crap, the controls are sluggish and often result in a unfair death, there is far to many times where it is IMPOSSIBLE to continue... PLAY TEST YOUR GAME OR DONT RELEASE IT!
