Look at all these highly-rated sheep, tongue-bathing the game together. Face facts, people. The controls are lousy, which makes for a lousy platformer (ladders and gliding across ceilings are particular points of crapiness). The combat is lousy, and just because it's not a combat-focused game isn't an excuse to incorporate a lousy element!

Legit difficulty, but there should be a purple checkpoint before the boss since you have to die a lot before knowing how to beat it.

Jumping physics were weird, but I guess that's acceptable. The constant "This game is so hard" stuff was a bit annoying after a while -- just let the game speak for itself!

This is just a genius game. It reminds me of the first DK game I ever played, on the 64, but it's much harder. If I had to rate it a difficulty, it would be like the first level is almost as hard as the last world of Super Mario Brothers 3. Insane. 5/5.

Decent, but too little reward for too much work it seems. There weren't many things to collect, many things to interact with, find, or do... but there was a lot of jumping and waiting for platforms. While I don't mind waiting for platforms and jumping to get a neat widget, this really felt more like jumping & waiting for jumping & waiting's sake rather than some space pirate after treasure. I'd recommend mixing in slightly more reward.. adding one or two elements per screen (or every other) that are easier to obtain, that make you think that getting through that tough jumping puzzle is going to pay off, rather than showcasing that the tough jumping puzzle is likely just going to give you another tough jumping puzzle.

Yikes... It sounded like eve the Tutorial was harder than Disney difficulty.... Have any of you played any Disney platformers? The difficulty seems to go past the TOP difficulty of most others. So far, this game isn't that hard. (Played the tutorial, beat it fairly easily) It even has an option for making short jumps easier! This is the FIRST time I've EVER seen a platform game that's got a function like that! This deserves a 6/5, for how much Fig Hunter did, to make it more playable.

Congratulations Pseudo! Raider has officially been rated "Platform Hell" by those folks on tvtropes! I believe this puts it above "Nintendo Hard", which is what many people are calling this.
(sorry for the jargon, I'm fairly sure pseudo knows what I mean)
Nonetheless I am a huge fan. I love your works, and I doubt I will ever find anyone ever worth 5 stars besides you.

I was put on this earth in 1995. therefore, my first actual game was Dark Cloud for the PS2. I did have an old Nintendo, but I never beat anything on it. I saw this a a challenge to prove to others that, even I grew up in the age where you were taken my the hand in games, I could do this. I actually beat this, first time, on intermediate. Many young gamers today may be child like, but I, and a few others can stand as a testament that there are those, and will be those who can appreciate the old-school games and their challenge.

Nah this is just annoying. I've read all that rubbish about old games being better cause they're hard but maybe games aren't so hard because people realized they're more rewarding when the goals are attainable. It's called evolution and progress.

I enjoy the gameplay, but the jumping feels awkward and clunky. I'm not sure how you'd go about fixing this issue, either. Still, fun game and I really enjoyed it.

I'm 19, and grew up playing games on an N64. Had a few games that I literally couldn't play cause they were "so hard" to me back then, so I would watch my mom play and then try to do it. I remember the feeling of accomplishment when I first started being able to do good in those games. I think there need to be more games like this one, and while I agree it is hard, I don't get as mad at this game as I used to get at those old games (oh I've also played some NES and SNES games too so I know about how hard those can be). Maybe it's because I'm not that far in it or maybe playing Demon Souls and Dark Souls (2 of the hardest games of this era I'm gonna say) improved my patience, anyway great game like always, keep up the good work.

I'd like to note that difficulty doesn't necessarily make a better game, although it can (again, megaman proves this) but my personal favourite nes game, kirby's dream land, is undeniably easy, however I really enjoyed the gameplay variety it provided with the different powers. So, there can be good and bad difficulty, and this game, unfortunately, falls into the latter.

Glitch: got to the first boss, but every time he killed me I flashed blue and red, as if about to die, then stopped, recovered all heath, and stayed alive. Happened 10 times in a row. Still happening as I type this.

Although Pseudolonewolf's games are really really epicly fun they can be ungodly annoying and hard but its worth winning the games and trying to beat them lol

Haha, this reminds me of the ol' hard games, those like Super Mario (Which is freakingly hard for me now, since i had not played it since the SNES.)
