Don't think of it taking forever, think of it as having a lot of time to place your defenses during waves. A LOT of time.

The thing I miss most from the newer versions isn't the speed up button, it's the wave bar. Not knowing what's coming next can make some maps take 3 or more attempts to come up with a winning strategy, because something comes along that absorbs all your damage.

Figuring out a strategy to beat a level wouldn't be so bad if you didn't have to waste half an hour discovering what did or didn't work. WAYYYYYYYYYYY too slow

for those saying its long, you can play another game while the wave is on and when you hear the noise of the monsters stop, go back to the game.

I agree with the other comments. The game truly needs a x3 speed button. This suggestion goes for Protector IV as well. The game is painfully slow to play- If you could speed it up it would be much more enjoyable-- Other than that great game! (Love IV)

UGHH! What is wrong with my laptop?! Every time a dude beats an enemy, it stops a little while before going on! I'm just to addictied (did I spell that right?) to get off the game, it's so good:(

Snazzy game, if I do say so myself. The graphics aren't by any means super special, but the soundtrack isn't 1/2 bad, and for a sort of tower defense game it's quite unique. I personally find it very challenging to complete, and with that challenge comes a combination of frustration and WEWTness, bringing, overall, an enjoyable experience. Great 'ole game, undefined!

The first time I played (About 3 years ago) It was compelling. I couldn't stop. But now with the Slew and variety of Tower defense games on kongregate this game gets shoved in the corner It's the father if the Genre but looks simple to the higher grade of games now. It's a classic but not given the credit deserves.

Hehe, love the random comments in the game: I lose on wave 17: "Worst. Attempt. Ever"
Then i screw up completely on same map and die on wave 3: "You almost had it" ....

11 maps down and first 3 badges on the second day. Preview the waves and stack for weaknesses rather than distributing your skill points for balance. Faster experience is a must though.

This is probably the most obtuse and frustrating of all the tower defense-style games on Kongregate. Ugly, super-slow, and overly punishing for even the smallest mistake. For example- when the creator of the game has an entire help entry devoted to explaining why he won't let you sell units, and impugning your game playing ability in a really condescending way for even asking, you know that the game you are trying to play has some messed-up priorities. So yeah, screw this game.

For me, the 40 wave easy marathon (maybe other levels) wasn't that hard if you just have a balance between all four elemental mages with a few warriors.

Hired 6 necromacers and 2 paladins in one game. Only unlocked the "hire 2 paladins" condition for the achievement. Next game Hired 2 Necromancers Still no achievement.

Want a fast forward button ? Well, I could not find one "per se" but setting the graphic quality to low is kind of effective.

I like tower defence games, especially when they're set in this historic genre,
but I believe it could be better, I agree with FEARdebater, it does need to have a speed up button, but its a challenge and i like that, 4 stars.

Hello, when I'm playing I haven't the wawe list (and the arrow at left near the red mage). It's a flash bug ? (I have the last one version).
