it would be nice if you could temporarily disable a manipulator (without altering the programming) so that you could test how the rest of the solution works

Being able to double click on a command to send it to the programming of an arm would be nice, be easier than dragging them every time.

i found a way to make the game a bit more difficult. i write the programs for the game in a word document then paste it in the load bar....the programming is really easy to understand if you look at it for a minute

There is a sequel, but unless you get to at least the elixir of life, I dont recommend trying it. ITs the magnum opus challenge, also found on kong

I take pride in making my machines as time-efficient as possible. Lead to Gold at the absolute maximum (based on speed you can pull out Mercury) rate of one gold per 5 cycles!

It took me a long time to figure out that you can change the inital length and orientation of the robotic arm and thought that the whole right side of the screen was a waste. Just have to make the changes when your still holding the arm with the mouse.

I agree with all the top comments here, everything about this game is absolutely brilliant and beautiful. From the graphics (even though they're relatively simple), to the soundtrack, to the ranging complexity of the puzzles which can drive you mad, especially when some puzzles seem like they're so simple at first. Yet you keep finding bugs 50+ cycles in...you fix those, feel great, and then something else comes up a few cycles later...then you finally get everything working, and you feel like the best coder in the world. It's great. As someone with a longtime interest in computer science and coding/programming, I think a debugger would be really nice here, but the added challenge of not having one makes the feeling of finally solving a puzzle that much better. Multiple solutions per puzzle and the "you have to play it for a while to get it" (quote from 19matt's comment) also make it lots of fun to see what the most efficient possible solution is. 5/5 and added to favorites.

A very amazing game, I always loved the study of Alchemy and this helps quite abit with programming aswell, and I always have loved Automating stuff. I give this game 5 stars, awesome job!

Wow, this game is so beatiful. The feeling you have while watching your mechanism is greater than killing a thousand zombies. The brilliant music also contributes to the experience. You have to work on the presentation side, though. That's always the downside in your games- only very few has the ability and will to even try to understand your games. Frankly this is only game of yours that I got into, the others were too complicated. Try to work on the graphics and presentation, and thing about adding interactive tutorials to your games. Good luck in the future

This is an absolutely amazing game. It has kept me obsessed for over a week trying to work out how the heck you do these. I managed most of them within an hour but struggled on 12, 13 and 14. 15 is still eluding me. Gonna take a look at the next game but I imagine it's just as amazing as this.

Lancer873's comment about the programming cycles having to all be in ratios of powers of two is very helpful, but not always true. For example I have a build in which 3 of my manipulators have a 12 step cycle and the others have 4 step cycles; I need each of those to cycles 1 and 3 times respectively for every successful reaction.

Baffo -- the circle must only contain the Hematite molecule when you release it. Because there's another element present, the circle isn't correct. Your solution works with one small amend -- if you change the final arm to be quicker. Instead of grab, two extends, release and two retracts, replace it with two pauses, a restart symbol, then a four-step cycle of grab, extend, release and retract. You only need to extend it one space to be within the circle, and the changed rhythm releases the molecule earlier, which is enough to avoid this problem and let the solution work.

The game comes to a time when it's all about optimization and timing, but it keeps being fun even like that, and I appreciate such an incredible feat for a game. It's all around pretty good, mainly when I always had a little thing for puzzle games like this where you have to make those little parts yourself. A certain 5/5.
