This is really fun in concept. However, after a few levels I don't really feel any motivation to keep playing. The points I earn just unlock more levels, and the only variety is the inclusion of more colors as you move up. Motivating the player can be pretty simple (look at old pac-man games, you got cutscenes every couple levels. They don't mean much, but they ARE a point of interest for players). A variety of music would be good, harder stages using more and more popular midi-ized songs. :P
Spent too many points reducing the briefcase's hit points. Apparently that upgrade is broken. I'm doing 14-ish damage to it per hit, it has 20 hp, and can still stand up to 3 hits? This must be "new math" cos I don't get it.
I'm disabled and need arrow control. I can't play it, and such a simple change would fix that. Developers that overlook international players and accessibility for disabled users get a 1/5.
Obviously you weren't making enough money on the first several games you made. You poor, poor starving artists! However did you find the will to go on after all this time? 1/5. you have the right to make ad money on your games, and you make tons. This giant pile of the same ol' same ol' + "buy extra crap for real $$$" reeks of greed.
Was going to give it a 2/5 for the gimmick levels. A game shouldn't need to rely on things that annoy the player in lieu of actual complexity. However, it was pretty fun and otherwise pretty well made. The "Almost-Mission-Impossible" remix music is kind of cute, too. 3/5
dear dz2001, I have posted an example of how to add arrow key support to your already existing code in my profile. For a few seconds of effort, you can please azerty users, as well as being more accessible to disabled users. If the examples don't fit your code and you need help figuring out how to adapt, I am sure an ActionScript community could help you out rather quickly. Ta ta.
No arrow support = 1/5. When even tiny, crappy games can manage to offer wasd -and- arrow controls, more complex game developers have no excuse to not do the same.
This is a really good start, but it needs major polish. You have to prevent the same word from appearing at the same time. Offer a way to sell back turrets you don't need anymore or accidentally bought. Whether you win or lose, the game screen goes black and must be refreshed to play again. Fix it up, give it a little polish, and I think this is a cute typing tutor. :)
I'm amused at all the people calling the screens "popups". Apparently, there's a lot of children who have no idea what silent films are. However, I'll agree the dialog screens are far too frequent. Funny at first, but they interrupt gameplay.
Ack.. also, froze on the.. stage 3 boss.. I think. Some mecha... thing... with medusa-gun-hair standing on a souped up hobgoblin glider. I think I may have accidentally moused off the screen or something? Still have music going and I can listen to pew pew lazors when I click. :P
Health pickups need work or something... they always drop fast at the far right side of the screen, right as more enemies zoom in and start shooting. May as well not even drop them. 3/5
This is a pretty cute game. I have issues with the fact that towers on the north side of the river are less effective than towers on the south side, just because of the games perspective angle (3/4 overhead). If the effective zones accounted for this perspective, it'd be fine.
It's kind of necessary in these kinds of games to be able to track the progress of your troop building and research. Also, does research stack if you do it more than once? The game doesn't really say. This is a good start on an alternative to [blech] Evony. Haha
