You are opening yourself up to so many sequels: tank wars, naval combat, defense mode, dogfights, RTS, MMOs, and I would play the hell out of all of them.
How to get on top: start out with your team of 2, and DON'T hire any more off the bat. Choose a specialty for each of the two guys and build those skills until they are green. For training in art just crank out a bunch of puzzle games, for coding do simulations, etc. After you built up the skills you chose, (DON'T make one guy the jack of all trades, that is a surefire way to get yourself broke. Each guy should only have one skill in which he is good at) start cranking out good quality micro games as you hire two more guys and build up their skillset. After all four guys have one green skill and know all three tools for that skill, just crank out the small scale games. Then work on, using the same tactic, building up a team large enough to do medium and, eventually, large.
@afganiti: that confused me too. The reason you have negative gain is probably because you are building something, and the reason you can't upgrade the food production is because the program calculates all the wood that will be produced in your queue before it gets to the food production. Try waiting until all the builds you have queued up are completed and THEN get 2.5K wood.
Seriously, if you can't update this fine, but give it to somebody who will. I would if I had the coding knowledge, and after I learn more I might. I don't know, it will take time. This is the game that I was wishing to happen for a LONG time, and now that it is actually here I find it almost finished.
Listen to all you newbies trying out this game: this game takes TIME. It WILL be boring the first few days/weeks. Try to betterize your economy by taking what you have least of (wood, concrete, etc.) and upgrading all the resource/processing buildings for it. Eventually you will have enough money to build REAL armies by the tens of thousands. If patience is not your virtue, skip this game.
@EpicJekz: no, the game is not play to win as you are implying. If you are losing after buying the premiums, it is because you suck not because the game ripped you off.
I know that I'm just confirming what others have said, but the dart monkey strategy works. Just fill the screen with them. Make sure that you pack them closely together, you will need a LOT of them.
We wanted to show you all from the basic economics. Trust us, doing tutorial is so much work, we would gladly make it without one. But it's a necessity.
Features this game needs, I know some have been said already. 1. lava 2. water 3. quicksand 4. mobs/monsters 5. a way to craft weapons, and a way to hurt other people (maybe you can have a 'pacifist' setting on a game to turn it off?) 6. selling resources for coins (10K dirt = 1 coin) 7. a LOT more crafting types (weapons, vehicles, spawn eggs, etc.)
Things to add to a sequel:
1. I love the gear unlocking aspect, but it would be AWESOME if the gear would actually increase lethality/effectivity. Just a thought.
2. A level editor aspect would be phenomenal, but you don't actually get money/stars from it because you could make it op and get 10000 treasure chests and get a bunch of loot.
3. make the story be where the guy needs to train his son to be an awesome thief, and you have the guy be doing all the stuff and the son shadowing all his movements, making it easy to perform awesome combos and tricks and get lots of loot... but you need to be careful because the son can't jump as high or parachute as far as you can, so if you do too hard a stunt the son would be left behind.
4. make the final boss battle be Borin Hood, with his own son, back to reclaim his fame. I think that would be awesome.
5. I also want a 'side game' to this, not as a sequel but as an extra bonus, where a guy is in modern-day times and is performing heists.
Hidden loots I found: 1. In the first zone there is a lamp hidden under the leaves of one of the trees. You need to jump up to find it. 2. when there is a huge-ass tower followed by a huge-ass dropoff, you are given two parachutes. The reason for this is because, if you time it just right, you can stop parachuting and drop into the void. you will collect a golden helmet and then bounce back up, where you must use your second parachute. The helmet is slightly visible, but if you miss you will die. 3. on top of the windmill is a treasure chest, you will need to do some aggressive jumping/backtracking to get it. + to keep this alive.
@Destruction98: I am pretty sure you are the only one who came because he saw boobs. Everyone else came because it is an awesome game. If you don't think so, take my advice and piss off.
I want part 4 to be where the person finds out she was dreaming the whole thing, and you need to figure out what your real life story is... and you find out YOU are the observer. Once that major reveal happens, people think, "oh the game is done, great game" and there is one last jumpscare where one of your patients kills you. Then you leave everyone wondering what the hell is going on.
